Diversion
Well I'm one of the few who actually loved FC. I particulary liked the system which gave you maintenance points for destroying enemies. This meant that by being conservative with your own units and repairing when you could instead of getting new ones you could wear your enemy down. Now I do realize that this can't be implemented in BG, however I would like to see repair getting significantly cheaper than building the same amount of hit points in a unit. I don't know what the cost-formula is but i think repairing an AT ST which has half of it's hit points actually cost as much as manufacturing a half AT ST(correct me if I'm wrong). As it is now repair is pretty useless, it's only advantage is that you can restore health at the front. If it was cheaper it would add to the game and make people be more conservative with their forces and try new tactics and strats IMHO.
Chessack
Well, that's true for things like Mechs, that require repair work. But for flesh-and-blood units, medical healing is "free." That's why in AoK, if you parked a monk with your defensive units, you could, just as you describe, wear your opponent down... because after the battle, all his units were destroyed, but half of yours could be healed. And building 20 men-at-arms 5 times, costs a lot more than building 10 5 times and healing the rest. So, it works like you want for some units, just not all of them.
