Did anyone else who reads these forums think that Elite Force sucked? Just on the premise it was a waste of a companies efforts to bring us a game based in the StarTrek Universe?

Tottaly games is doing the same thing.. with the accalmied Xwing Series under there belt they are now working on a game based in llamma universe

I hope Raven live up to the Starwars name and more over create a multiplayer 100% better than that of EF. which was to be nice

(dull)

Im so glad that Raven is back on track now with Jedi Outcast which hopfully will be great and Soilder of Fortune II which also looks great ( if you haven't seen the trailer http://www.ign.com its there somewhere ) and finally the big responsibilty of Quake4

I'm trying hard to forget that Raven put their skills into EF but it seems many of you in these forums actually liked it

Actually I thought Elite Force was quite good. Much more fun than Quake2 SP, and it put me in the Star Trek universe. It was probably the most fun Trek game I've ever played (EGA Trek was pretty great though, classic era). The MP was a bit boring IMHO, and the Sp campaign was short, but the rest of the game was very well done I thought.

I liked it much better than the show it was based on... ; )

Agreed :)

What is more fun than vaporizing someone with a phaser compression rifle?

Vapourising someone with a Star Wars Tenloss Disruptor rifle. That's what. :p ...Especially with that gorgeous zoom-in sequence, and the new death animation, which will shame anything EF could throw at us :D

I liked elite force but the shadows were VERY poorly done. It was just one shadow that moved around depending on where the major light source was coming from, it looked very bad. Hopefully since JK uses the new feature of casting shadows on the characters, we wont see such horrible effects.

Even though I don't consider myself to be much of a Star Trek fan, I thoroughly enjoyed Elite Force. I never really got into multiplayer, but the single player game was excellent (if a bit on the short side).

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems as if your Star Wars-fanboy/anti-ST attitude kept you from enjoying a great game. Simply because a game is set in a "llama universe" doesn't make it a bad game.

I liked/like Elite Force. I agree that the shadows were poorly done. Although I loved the single player (it was short but fun). I still play the multiplayer. While I'm sure that SOF II is good and all. Elite Force and JK 2 are great for us people who prefer a liittle less gore. That's not to say that RTCW and SOF II are not cool.

Though EF didn't particularly do anything for me, I don't think it was a bad game, and would tend to agree with OOC, above.

Moreover, I've always felt that the whole Star Wars fans vs. Trekkies thing was downright comical in its hypocrisy, but that's just me... :)

i like Star Terk. i loved the work Raven put into: Levels were part together well weapon models looked good but and just about everything about the game looked good. I didn't like Elite Force cause of the "what da..?" storyline and all weapons had zoom (what was the pont of the sniper zoom for the rifle thing?) and the AI/frieandly guys didn't do any damage to the bad guys, it was like "set phasers to tickle " lol :)

i just hope they give your friendly AI more powerful weapons in JO.(u guys seen the SOF2 thing on IGN? it looks soo cool!)

Personally i don't like Star Treck either ,but i enjoyed Elite Force ,it had a interesting story and good voice acting and NPC scrypting.

It was a bit short ,but good nontheless.

As for that lack of shadows ,please ,enlighten me ,was there a game with better visuals at the time ?!?
