+Nimbus+ Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 Hey Half-Life has spray paint to spray on stuff maybe people can like etch their clan logo in the wall with their saber It's possible, and maybe people will come up with some cool artwork.
JPMaximilian Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 That's a cool idea, you hit a logo button similar to spraypaint, and your character quickly pulls the lightsaber and carves in a logo.
+Nimbus+ Posted February 18, 2002 Author Posted February 18, 2002 You made it sound all cool! I meant just running into a wall letting it carve automatically. That's how good ideas are brought about though, influence.
bsbuckeye21 Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 That would be very cool indeed. Make a preset image with vectors within a game menu, press a button, and Kyle'll slash it on up there! Patch it Raven! Actually, if we ever see Kyle carving anything in a cutscene then it'd probably be easy to mod it. Also, I don't want this to replace decals at all.
Dark Malice Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 That really is a pretty good idea. I doubt it'll happen though, but there's still a chance.
JPMaximilian Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 Originally posted by bsbuckeye21 Also, I don't want this to replace decals at all. Raven could do both, but thats a lot just for logo's.
Hunter545 Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 Sadly, the scorching doesn't last longer then a few seconds...we've seen it in the trailer. But someone will probably make a MOD so I'm not worried about that. BTW this is a great idea.
dazilla Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 Yeah, it lasts about as long as the scorching of the phaser in Elite Force (basically, it's not a new feature at all)
TrUeFoRcE Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 not a bad idea, but it would be way to hard for kyles animation to sketch in all the different logos, he could probably scorh off parts of the logo though...sorta like a lotterly ticket the part u scrath off is the part u see...so if u scrath off everything in a big circle the whole image would appear, but i doubt that kyle would sit there and draw each logo........
Kurgan Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 I want to be able to use my saber to carve sculptures of my dad and best teacher.
Pogwaffle Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 It would be cool if they put in a saber-carve mode. You press a button and you can independently move the mouse around and carve stuff into the wall when saber is active. THAT WOULD BE MAD!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't really care if it wasnt in the game. It still will be kick arse none the less.
Chanke4252 Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 I think that they should combine the paint program that comes with windows into JKII. Ever wondered how the force effects artwork? Here's your chance to find out. I can just see it now. Against all odds...... Choose your weapon...... Seize your destiny...... And lets carve some $@#$ into the walls...... Jedi Knight 3 : Saber Paint Coming Spring 2003
nykel007 Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 Good one C4252 It's still a good idea to see.
Imp Destroyer Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 actually from what i've seen, the saber is constantly active in the environment, so simple logos are possible to carve with a mouse and/or JOYSTICK, (I CAN'T believe that people play with a mouse, BLECH!)
Jinn Tar-Nesh Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 :D :D So you say I could be able to carve...let's say...a big penis!,then laugh at the dark jedi I'm playing and say: "MY FORCE IS STRONGER THAN EVER""?? :D Nice...
ps2maddenman Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 Does the saber etching ever fade away? Or will it stay on the map indefinately?
Graphicsgod Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 Good ideas people. I think HL was the only game to do that. Um if thats what your going to do with it Jinn Tar-Nesh, I hope they leave it out then .
Guest Obi Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 <font color=cbcbff> Supposedly the saber scorching starts out glowing and then fades to just a metal colored scar. That makes it not like phaser scorching, but a step further. It'll only glow for a short time, but it'll stay there for a little longer as a darker scar. The logo etching is a wonderful idea.
Denise Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 I can just see all the "Let me show you my etchings" jokes this would entail...
Agen Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 Or "How many Quakers does it take to write this out" jokes... Damn i like quake
StarScrap Posted February 20, 2002 Posted February 20, 2002 How many Quakers does it take to change a lightbulb? Well, they can only get halfway. Once they've taken out the first bulb all that's left is a hole in the celing. Okay, that was bad. . . . .
