No, this is a co-op that allows you to play the singple player experience with friends.

In case you had user-created maps in mind when posting let me tell you that it will be possible :D We're not adding specialized support for the single-player maps, but try to make it general, so you can make maps for the original single player and for our coop-mod when it's out :D !

I'm praying for the SDK to be released just so you guys can really start working on the co-op mod. I don't care as much about all the other mods and stuff, I just can't wait to play co-op! Is there any way you guys can give an estimate of about how long it will take to release the co-op mod once the SDK is out? It makes waiting so much easier when there's a date set. Oh, and I'm really glad to hear that it will work with user-created SP maps too!

Some questions:

Can you save/load coop sessions like in System Shock 2?

How will you make it so a bunch of people can get weapons and light sabers - add more weapon/respawn locations or make it so more than 1 person can get the same object?

How will the AI react to a bunch of people? Does it have to be reprogrammed?

Thanks.

I really look forward to this.

:)

I don't know all the stuff coding god TheSnerd is putting into it, but saving/loading will normally not be possible. You will be able to "vote" for which part you would like to play. We are still working on a nice feature how to get the objects.

The AI will be reprogrammed.

:D This is going to rock soooo damn much. I commend you on this, games with co-op are the bomb :D

I can't wait to play with my friend. While he's force choking a stormy I'll be slashing them up. A fine effort, two thumbs up.

To bad I can't program or model cause i'd love to help, oh well.

  • 1 month later...

I just have one Question:

Could this Mod be Used as a base to make new Mods, with new Weapons, Force Powers, Cutscenes, new Enemies with new AI and perhaps multiple Storylines (like in JK I) that could be played alone???

Wow, this changes so much for us. You're saying that standard SP maps can work with this mod, would allow for so much more... interesting things.

*ponders the sheer possibilities* Just for example, having a team of Jedi on a mission... or bounty hunters tracking down Jedi prey during the Purge.

I don't care how long this takes, but as long as it is finished eventually, I will be a happy man.

I don't suppose it would be possbile to add saving and loading though would it?

I'm no coder, so I really can't say if that is possible. However, it might be a little bit difficult to add this function on MP mods - like Coop - but if you design a SP mod with the MP code (kinda stupid, actually :D) it could work. But this is something only TheSnerd can answer.

We will have a save function in it, TheSnerd will have to write one. It might not be in the initial release, but we need one later on, for the simple reason that we are building are tc on the co-op code => we need to be able to save.
