Natty
I've seen Dogma- my bf took me to see it and I was like "OMG hooooooooooow funnnnnnnnnny" all my other friends don't like em, except my friend Jaz, which is who wants to have the movie night with all the movies they're in, which I'm totally for. There any other movies with them in it?

Natty
Do they? I don't remember that. Then again I've only seen that movie twice and didn't think it was as good as the origional2- spose that's coz like thingie argued, the sequal is never as good as the origional other then Empire Strikes Back Oh well no matter, I can probably look it up on imdb.com
brief
Looks like they had to move the clip to another sever, so that might have been the reason why it wasn't working. Also, since the clip is a QuickTime clip, you'll have to have a QuickTime player. It's official! I now have all the Kevin Smith films on DVD Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back (got that about two weeks ago). The only thing missing from my Kevin Smith collection is the Clerks cartoon. "If you had been that funny, ABC never would have cancelled us." --Randal, deleted scene from JASBSB There seems to be a new Clerks movie in the works... I thought Kevin Smith said he was done with the Jersey films.
Natty
I read the reason why they did Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was coz they'd had enough, he wasn't gonna do anything else, basically retiring. http://us.imdb.com/Name?Smith,+Kevin
murta
First off - brief, you don't have all the Kevin Smith DVDs at the mo, you're missing the very recently released Drawing Flies. Do you have the Clerks : Animated Series DVD? I need it, onyl available in Region 1 at the moment The new Clerks film is called Clerks : Sell Out and I think it's going to be full colour Kevin Smith is also working on a film called Jersey Girl A Daredevil movie's being made (don't think Kevin's involved in it, although Ben Afleck is lined up to play Matt Murdock (In case any of you don't know Kevin wrote a number of Daredevil comic books - btw, Daredevil's about a guy blinded as a kid with hightened senses of smell, taste, touch and hearing, combining to give him a kind of sonar, he also has no fear) Natty, if you've seen Dogma, I'm not sure if you'll like some of his older stuff, but watch them anyway cos they rule That all probably came out making little to no sense, but never mind

You would also notice that I didn't say "all the Kevin Smith DVDs"; I said "all Kevin Smith films," which is quite different from "DVDs." A TV series isn't considered "film"; only theatrical releases are considered "film."

brief
Incidently, I guess I'm a bit more like Randal, in the sense that I've also wondered about the flying car for quite some time. In fact, I searched around for information on possible prototypes being researched about two years ago... and there are people trying to develop it. However, practicality kicks in.. For all everything we're supposed to benefit from the advent of the consumer affordable flying vehicles, it just seems an unlikely projects, for several reasons: It doesn't really solve our traffic problem. Sure, if only a few people had them, they could be zipping around without any problems. But imagine if everyone had one? The skies would have to be regulated somehow, just like the roads we have right now, because we can't let everyone just fly in any direction they please, at any height they please, at any speed they please. So there would have to be specific "sky lanes" designed, and we're back to square one as far as traffic is concerned. How exactly would these "sky lanes" be marked? You guys have seen Back to the Future 2, right? There were these road markers floating in the air--what's holding them up? What if someone hits one? Look out below...(!) Speaking of things falling, what about safety? You think some people are hesitant to get on a plane now... Guess what? Statistically speaking, you're more likely to get in a car crash on the ground than you are going to be in a plane crash. A car crash happens much more often than a plane crash, for one simple reason--There are much more cars out there than there are planes, and there are stupid drivers, drunk drivers, people no longer fit to drive, etc. These are the people who cause accidents. Give these guys flying vehicles, and what's next? Not only are you no longer safe travelling with these yahoos behind the wheels, you now have to contend with disaster falling from the sky because of these idiots... And with vehicles crashing into buildings, here's one more problem. After the disaster of 9/11, how many governments would even sanction the use the flying vehicles to the general public? Who knows which psycho might use it to ram some other building? ...and the list goes on. Flying cars? Technologically, I'm sure it's possible. Will it ever become common in the near future? Not bloody likely. That said, here are two sites I've been keeping my eyes on, just in case.... http://www.moller.com/skycar/ http://www.solotrek.com/mjet/index1.html
Grannen
ConvAIRCAR from Nov 1947. http://www.retrofuture.com/flyingcar.html Crashed a few months later due to fuel shortage! brief
See, a "car" with such a wide wingspan is just impractical... Think about it: if it is supposed to replace cars, it means we will keep it in the place of where we used to keep our cars--in the garage. Never mind that we can't keep something like that in our garages, most of us probably don't have driveways wide enough for the take-off, either. Actually, you'd probably have to go to an airport before the thing could take off.. so are you going to drive down the road with that thing, and let the wings hit trees, other cars, etc.? Of course not. Then you would have to store it in a hanger at the airport. Drive to the airport when you need to use it.. and.. what would be the point? Might as well get your own private jet--you're still gonna use a car halft the time, or at least for things not further than where your airport is. That's why I only look at VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) vehicles. You won't need a runway for take off or landing. The people who design them as "flying cars" will actually try to make them conform to the size of your typical cars, even if it doesn't look like your typical car. So, think of the Moller Skycar as your "flying sedan," and the SoloTrek XFV as sort of a "flying motorcycle." Actually, from what I've read, there were some people trying to develop a motorcycle that runs on turbines and hovers. Except they ran out of funding. duder
Kevin Smith films are; 1.Visually dead. 2.The Dialogue is about as much fun as Dawsons Creek's. 3.He casts a bunch of twats (Exception of Jason Lee). 4.At best he is a reasonably talented writer. 5.Jay and Silent Bob strikes back was a shameful piece of filmmaking. Lazy, dull and predictable.

murta
Basically, you're looking at it from the stand point of the average movie fan: 1.Visually dead - If the films don't require action sequences, explosions or special effects, then why is this a negative point 2.The Dialogue is about as much fun as Dawsons Creek's - The dialogue is extremely witty and well timed, just because the characters aren't making fart jokes every 2 seconds or pulling silly faces doesn't mean it's boring. You just need to be able to understand the jokes (which you obviously don't) 3.He casts a bunch of twats (Exception of Jason Lee) - The actors fit the roles perfectly and while Clerks and Mallrats were badly acted in parts, they still got across the message of Kevin's brilliant writing. Plus he's uncovered some (now) extremely big stars 4.At best he is a reasonably talented writer - I don't even need to comment on this cos it's so stupid. But I will, he's one of the best screen/comic writers on the planet 5.Jay and Silent Bob strikes back was a shameful piece of filmmaking. Lazy, dull and predictable - I'm sorry I've never heard of a film called 'Jay and Silent Bob strikes back'. I'd like to know how multiple people (not addressed as a singular body) can 'strikes' back

Why do you think that when I say 'visually dead' do you think I mean action sequences. I am no average movie fan. I study film, I love film, I watch an awful lot of films, and what I mean by this comment is that the films are made with little visual flair, expression, or imagination. I could go into more detail, but I'm sure it would go way over your head. 2.The Dialogue is about as much fun as Dawsons Creek's - The dialogue is extremely witty and well timed, just because the characters aren't making fart jokes every 2 seconds or pulling silly faces doesn't mean it's boring. You just need to be able to understand the jokes (which you obviously don't) Once more you are talking out of your stupid Derby arse. What on earth makes you think that is what I am refering to? Kevin Smith's sense of humour is far from sophisticated, and I don't feel the need to list the endless amount of brainless, crude jokes he has employed to gain laughs from stupid film spectators like yourself. 3.He casts a bunch of twats (Exception of Jason Lee) - The actors fit the roles perfectly and while Clerks and Mallrats were badly acted in parts, they still got across the message of Kevin's brilliant writing. But I will, he's one of the best screen/comic writers on the planet Its a matter of opinion. I obviously don't agree. How about the Coen Brothers? These guys deserve the credit, and they make Smith's scripts appear like school projects. 5.Jay and Silent Bob strikes back was a shameful piece of filmmaking. murta
His films don't need to rely on 'visual flair' (by this I presume shooting from well picked angles or using camera tricks or some fancy shmancy, arty farty schmarty crap you learn about. He has one of, if not the biggest 'underground' film followings in the world, spanning age and race groups, which in itself kinda speaks for itself You're kinda outnubered here and starting to sound rather immature, so I do hope you continue and dig yourself deeper
