I'm outnumered, why should that matter? Immature? Why I think it was you that began to insult me;

You are:

1 - Wrong

2 - A Star Trek fan

3 - 7 years old

All of which are quite ludicrous things to say.

I'm not saying his films should be be 'fancy shmancy, arty farty schmarty crap' as you would ignorantly put it. But I do expect a level of quality, which is something Smith can't deliver.

Look I can't be bothered to get into a argument with you. Just appreciate that Smith isn't considered by all to be great, and if people offer a differing opinion to your own than deal with it maturely.

Hey kids it's Mark Hammil *appluase*

OK- as stated previously I had NFI who Kevin Smith was before I saw Dogma, and while I seriously thinks the searing could be toned down a lil bit- I still think it's brilliant and different. He's not afraid to take the piss outta stuff. Just look at Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. He's not afaid to take the piss outta himself about his weight, or out of Matt Damon and Ben Afleck, or anyone else for that matter. I seriously think if those actors had a problem with someone making fun of them for roles they've done in the past, then they wouldn't wanna be in Kevin Smith films. He's also not afraid (and BTW this is how Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back came across to me- dunno about Mullrats, Chasing Amy and so forth) to make fun of stuff either "Do you follow the book?" "you picked us up didn't you? I gotta follow the book" Basically Kevin Smith films are a dark comedy- if you don't get it then that's too bad, it's making fun of normal everyday stuff and turning it around. Some movies are acted pathetically on purpose (American Pie springs to mind- how crappy was the acting? Especially on Oz's part)

I just think Duder, and forgive me if I misinterperate you- but just because you're a film student, and you know more about movies than the rest of us, I can't think of the word to say, but not all of us are the same, and I respect your opinion, but because your a film student, I don't really think it's fair to use your film talk and knowlege on the rest of us, since the rest of us would look at films in a different way to you, regardless of whether we agree with you or now

Natty!

Pls remember that duder several times points out that he is a film student and not an average person!

We can have an opinion but whatever it is, if duder says a film is bad then it is bad, if duder says a film is excellent, then it is excellent.

duder is the sole expert among us and we should respectfully listen to, and learn from, the master, not argue with him!

"Is someone bitter because he can't write worth crap? I think so..."

Is that because I don't agree with you all?

"stupid Derby arse"

I live near Derby, its a valid comment for any unfortunate being thats been subjected to it.

Thats perfectly reasonable, I agree, and my first post was a little too aggressive, but I don't like the films, and that is my opinion. Feel free to have your own, but don't insult me for having mine.

Actually its was only twice. The reason I said it was to let people know I wasn't a 7 year old star trek fan who yearns for action sequences, not to sound superior to others.

Yeah I agree- hope you didn't take what I said the wrong way, I don't mind you having your own opinion (as I hope you don't mind the rest of us for having a different opinion) I just think it's a lil unfair coz you're probably used to watching things and literally have to pick the movie apart. I did media in highschool, and when we had to analize movies or tv ads, we had to watch them sooooooooooo many times and pick out faults, mistakes, basically any errors. And since everyone else probably hasn't had the experience that you or me have had (but I assume you've had a lot more experience than me) they probably don't see the movie in the same way you do- regardless if they still like the movie or not :)

Anyways, you don't like the movie, the rest of us do, big deal, there's a lot of movies that some people hate and others love- I hated American Beauty- thought it was the most useless movie I had ever seen- my bf loved it, and why he doesn't understand why I hated the movie and I can't understand why on earth he loves it, I respect his opinion, even though he doesn't respect mine. Usually now I just tune out when he asks me why I hated the movie. :D
