What engine are you referring to? If there is to be another Jedi Knight game and if Lucasarts lets Raven do it again (which I think they will assuming there will be a JKIII)? Raven has more experience than anyone with Quake engines and since they are doing Quake IV, and Quake IV is using the DOOM III engine (which of course Raven will modify like they usually do...for the better of course) then Jedi Knight III will probably be using a modified version of the DOOM III engine.

what i mean was just hypothetical... Like the current situation... JK II is ALMOST released, and some folks are saying, if only it was the Unreal II engine, or the Quake 4 or whatever, you know, the best upcoming engines in development RIGHT NOW

So, i want JK III to be the best engine in development THEN (then = when its about to be released like JO is right now) BUT of course, it cant be, since its already almost done... so it will be a different engine

Does this sound philosophical? :)

The Doom 3 engine and the suppossed Quake 4 engine are one in the same. Although it is officially reffered to as the Doom 3 engine. Any way I think the Doom 3 engine would be the best contender for JK3 (Oh god I hope there is a JK3) the lighting is the best I have ever seen and would be great for the lightsaber and other effects. The models that I have seen so far are great in terms of detail. Don't get me wrong the Unreal 2 engine(or make that the Unreal:Episode 2 engine) is great, the enviroments are fantastic not to mention huge, the textures are so clear the first time I saw them I was giddy like a little school boy. But it just doesn't put the impression on me with it's lighting that the Doom 3 engine did.
