brief
I would think that the censorship is there to protect us, as well as the site owners, from over-protective parents. Not that I care much for censorship, but on my own site, I also censor the stuff I allow visitors to post, because the site is geared towards young people. I don't want to be the one to bear responsibility for the upbringing of these kids--that's the job of their parents. (This way, they can't claim that my site "corrupted" their kids, when they're the ones who are supposed to be taking care of their kids.) Still, if one cannot bring across one's point without the use of "profanity," then said person must have a quite limited range of vocabulary and communicative skills. Furthermore, if I really wanted to, I could just say f***, and you'd all know what I'm talking about, anyway. So who really cares?
MurrayDude
I agree, but 7 year olds don't go on forums like this because of over-protective parents who won't let see this place in the first place. So why should they censor us for being us? We aren't their children, and if we want to say profanity, there could be an age limit. Shakira is ****in' hot! Did that work? brief
Considering that the average age around here seems to be well under 18, if any of these over-protective parents were some how able to gain access to the sites that their children frequent, they might wander into here. They're going to look for someone to blame. They'll firstly blame their children, and then they'll blame the site. Then, when they're done blaming the site, they'll blame the games the site talks about. And then there'll also be the occasional troll f***er who'd come in here to post in ALL CAPS and nothing but profanity.
