IS this good for a PCI user!?

Hyy everyone I just found a ATI Radeon 7000 64MB DDR PCI for 87$

Does anyone know if it's better then my PNY Geforce 2 MX/400 64MB PCI??

Because if it can make my JK2 play better I will buy it since having a PCI slot and no AGP makes me limited in buying graphic cards I was just wondering if anyone knows how much better the 7000 is to the GF2MX400?

If anyone can replay with some help please do.

Thanks!

Its not worth it. Youve got a lazy old mobo that has to be replaced pretty soon. U probably have a pretty lame CPU as well. Start saving and get yourself a better mobo and CPU setup.

I know that the gfx card is the most important part in 3d gaming but getting that Radeon would be a waste of money.

In repy to Risod

But think about it, the guy does not have the cash for a new system which is why he is looking for a cheap and effective card. And Jedi Knight II is upon us soon, if he don't get a card upgrade he won't be able to enjoy Jedi Knight as much.

So for now I would say any improvement is better than nothing, just so long as the game will run nicly then you can focus on a new system without missing out on the fun.

I did not say I did not have the cash for a new system I do work ya know! I just don't wait to waste money on a new one!

Thats why I was asking if anyone knows if this PCI version of the 7000 is better then the MX400.

If you can play those games fine then you really don't need to make much of an upgrade for anything really. If JK2 does happen to become a bigger system hog then we'd all expect, I would just tone it down to 16 bit colour and lower a few of the LOD settings (which is hardly noticeable when the images are in motion).

If I were you I wouldn't buy anything new. I'd just save up for the next two or three years then get a completely new system or save the money incase any of the hardware in that one goes defective.
