Guest captain_oh Posted November 15, 2001 Posted November 15, 2001 Do the fighters dog fight with one another (fly and shoot) or do they just hover circling one another shooting at each other like helicopters( this would be dumb since they are fighters). Some one please inform me how air units behave in combat I would like to know before I buy this game. If any one has played total annihilation you would notice that air craft engage each other like fighters not like helicopters like in star crap I mean craft ( hover and exchange shots) A total annihilation fan who loves x-wings
Paragon_Leon Posted November 15, 2001 Posted November 15, 2001 although i liked TA, SWGB has a totally different approach to 'realism'. It's a basic fact you'll have to live with. So yes, i'd say the fighters hover.
Influenza Posted December 1, 2001 Posted December 1, 2001 I don't like it myself... but then, what can you do? It's built into the engine. Not much the SWGB team could do about it. TA's dogfighting was beautiful, and it's a shame more games don't implement it. I would've loved to see it in SWGB .

Their are plenty of crappy 2D RTS games but their are lot more of 2D RTS games so they don't seem as numberous but they are. Ground control(also has great dog fights), HomeWorld, Homeworld Cataclsm, Empire earth, Earth 2150, warzone 2100 these are all good tough their only ones of played I'm sure their are more their are crap ones too but their are also crap 2D one.

Natopo Posted January 1, 2002 Posted January 1, 2002 Force Commander is a great example of a 3D game that was confusing and worthless. That's the whole reason Lucasarts made GB. because everyone was complaining that FC stunk.
