Leinad744
Hey!! I'm 28 years old My wife is a true beliver that I am going insane over this game Jk2. I have pre-ordered the game from LEC, and I'm constantly checking the status their website. Keep playing games guys. It's ok to grow old mentally, but never grow old in your heart......keep up the fun!!
Shark747
21 Here, First Star Wars movie I remember seeing is ROTJ. TESB came out about 6 months before I was around. I still play games but not as much as I used to. Being a poor college student sucks. My dad bought me my first computer and computer game; Wing Commander......great series. I begged him to buy Wing Commander 3 when it came out but I didnt know my comp didnt meet specs. I was bummed but he ran out and got me a new processor and motherboard. He doesnt really care what I do now just as long as it doesnt get in the way of school.

BrainStorm
**Trying to remember a lost post** Glad to know that I am not the only one. I don't feel so old now. Its funny to think that a large percentage of the people that post here have been alive less time than I have been a star wars fan. I still have my 14" Boba Fett Action Figure, my Han Solo blaster, and my landspeeder. I wish I had kept more of my stuff. Lord_FinnSon, I have tried to get the wife to play but she only wants to if there are cheat codes. Ug. This is what I go through just to get my video game fix. I was getting up at 4:45AM to go to the gym before work. (Ha, another stereotype broken.) I would sleep in the other days. I started getting up at the same time even on days that I did not workout just so I could get some time to support my gaming habit. I even started getting up early on the weekends! My mancave (basement) is my only refuge. I keep it stocked with lots of dead bugs and spiders and stuff so the wife and kids will stay out! Lord_FinnSon
Lord_FinnSon, I have tried to get the wife to play but she only wants to if there are cheat codes. Ug. I assume your wife hasn't played too many games then, because she still hasn't found out that rewarding feeling when you beat up enemies, discover secrets and solve puzzles without cheat codes or walkthroughs. Playing with them only hardens up the immersion into that specific game world; it's more fun to use them AFTER you have gone through it at least once in a conventional way. Perhaps this could all indicate that she doesn't like FPS particularly, but instead games like Sims(my friend's girlfriend loved playing that before they swapped it away) or Deer Hunter(strangely enough, she also loves playing that, but I don't know why). Okey, those both were only two examples, but I bet you know where I'm heading. There is just so many games as there are people, so why don't you surprise her and buy her a game that you wouldn't usually play yourself, something that matches the way she thinks or something like that(of course you know the best what kind of person she really is). She can't refuse taking it, at least not before trying it first.
BrainStorm
If I got her a game that needed any real power, she would have to use my PC. My PC?!?! In MY mancave!?! NO WOMEN ARE ALLOWED IN THE MANCAVE!!! pant pant pant... I'm sorry. Was I ranting again? As long as it is a game that does not involve her using my PC, I guess it would be OK. Cray
Just turned 27 yesterday... Seeing Episode IV is the first memory I have as a child (I was 2). I remember what car we drove in, where we sat, EVERYTHING. Star Wars has just stuck with me ever since. My office at home (I'm a graphic designer and freelance a lot) is filled with Star Wars toys, and my office at work is covered as well (maybe I'll bust out the digital camera and post a few shots....hehe). IMO, you can never be to old. Too many people I know are preoccupied with age. Age is nothing but a number, and I refuse to be ruled by something so insignificant. Game on! igor
Gaming defies age, it is one little way in this world to make people equals. Whether you are 4 or 400, gamers have something in common. Why put age limits on having fun and in a since being a part of a community. A gaming community just another form of social interaction. ----age 21 (as I get older I stay young)
BrainStorm
Got my Boba Fett Pez dispenser right next to my monitor here at work. note to self... I need some more Pez refills. At least it is a relatively cheap habit. Have you seen how much money you can drop playing golf or tennis? Yikes! I have decided to only get older on the outside and not on the inside. I also wanna minimize the aging process on the outside too.
StormHammer
I'm 34, and I saw ANH for the first time on the big screen in 1978 (we moved house in 1977...big upheaval). I've always played games of one kind or another, though I never got into the Atari or console scene. I remember playing all kinds of games on an 8086 PC with a CGA (4-colour) screen back in 1988. You're never too old to be a gamer...and the games just keep getting better.

BrainStorm
Oh wise Kx_Dra_Sycdan. I cant wait to meet you online to show you what this "old" guy can do!.... of course if you waste me, I'm really gonna look lame... hmmm... I will try using a different name first.... As long as Ham is happy, then that is all that matters. I have one piece of advice. Since you are eighteen and have all of life's answers, make sure to write them all down. You will need them when you get older and you won't be able to remember them. Trust me.

Lnt. Kechtt
Just have to put in my two bits. I'm 18, have been for almost a year. I have a older sister, 20, a younger sister, 16, a younger brother, 12, and a baby sister, 5. My parents are 45, and 43 and we have two computers, both equiped with games of all types. I wouldn't call my family total gamers, but we all play more then we do anything else on it. When we bought our first REAL computer about 8 years ago, my dad bought more games then us kids did. Our first game was Reble assault. Dad use to call me at home durning the summer and tell me what he read in the hint guide at the computer store so we could beat the Hoth ice cave level. He and my mom use to play Lode Runner: The legend returns untill 2 a.m. Dad preordered the original Dark Forces when it came out and bought Jedi Knight within a week of it's release. We currently have 5 SSI games, all covering WWII and Dad still plays them even though he has to go into Dos for some of them. We kept our really old computer, which was an old 486 33mz for years after it was to old because of the games on it. Although he doesn't play as much as he use to. I fully expect to get a letter from him when I leave for a couple of years saying that he finialy beat JO. The only reason he is not buying it is because I am. You can never be to old to game. It is installed into one at any age and lives on forever. I will game untill I can no longer move the mouse or speak a word. And by then they may have thought imput. My girlfriend and I have talked about what our homes will be like and I told her that My wife will have to deal with a compusive gamer who will own multiple computer just so my friends and I can game. Gaming will live on thoughout the ages. *Steps off his soap box* Thank you! Thank you! (Yeah I know it's a long two bits, but money streches now-a-days)
SaberPro
I forgot how old I am, but Star Wars didn't exist before I came to U.S. I still remember I saw Star Wars with my friend in his house...and I had to go and i was like "DAMN!" *slices Obi-Wan* *noooo!!* *blast the door kid!* Yes...it is a sad life
Smitty
I am 38. I still play many computer games. Although I must say, the time for them is very small. Only late in the evening when the kids and wife have gone to bed. I have four kids, ages 11 down to 5 and all girls. They love games but not the same types as me. I play mostly SW games (xwing, XWA, TF, etc) and soon JO. I also enjoy playing UT online. Something about that game that is fun. I really do not expect JO MP to be as good but we will see. For the most part, my game playing never comes up much. I would certainly say I am in the minority for people my age though. See ya,
BrainStorm
Ah, another "scheduled" gamer. I have often hoped for a bout of insomnia so I could get more game time.
Smitty
"Scheduled gamer" that is a good term! Yes, I have always heard that as you get older you sleep less, I look forward to that! The "scheduled gamer" syndrome is also why I cannot get into online realtime strategy games. I prefer turn-based instead.
BrainStorm
Scheduled gamer syndrome?!?! HA! We should start the first S.G.S. Foundation! For people with a gaming habit and a limited time budget. We could schedule meetings and turn them into secret LAN parties!

Although I've always found at least a couple of hours to play, usally between the hours of 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. That's the best time to play. I don't think anyone could fall asleep playing JO, so it ought to me safe. Granted it works better on weekends then weekdays.
Smitty
One other tidbit. My father was playing computer games up until he died last year at the age of 76. I had got him turned on to computers and computer games around 1988.
BrainStorm
Sorry to hear about your father. My condolences to you for your loss. We will dedicate the first S.G.S. secret LAN "meeting" to him. Lnt. Kechtt, glad to know we can count on your support if the Foundation is ever established.
