I've almost mastered the Obi-Wan Episode I Leap-flip-slash that's seen at the start of Duel of the fates, but I get owned by initiate bots in a saber duel, and I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a MP saber throw.

:yobi:

I would like to learn the ways of the Force, and develop my skill of an elegant weapon of a more civilised age.

No I am not the old steel commander for JK1." I am just a guy with a lightsaber and a few ideas."

NO but seriously, I always wanted someone to train me, but nooone did, so I think it would be nice to train others. I hope JK2.net accepts the site. Im thinking this will be done within a month or so. So Im just hoping for the best and trying to get everything organized for you. BTW the name is Ross.

I am not looking for teachers right now, but I am looking for PRO HTML designers, because without a good site design, JK2.net will not take it, and we need them to host it so we can make a proper site.

BTW, I cant map 'special' maps, but when the maps start commin out, I will choose a specfic 'Jedi Academy' map that we use to train. Alright. Later.

JEDI,

I personally think its a wonderful idea. A place where newbies and people who jsut cant seem to get the knack can go, or even people whith great skill who want to pick upa thing or to or teach. I have always wanted something like this. Back in the days of JK 1 i would try to learn from people but there wasnt much to teach, now with Jedi Outcast it opens up many doors for people to actually develop skill and style with force and saber use. I would glady become one of the first pupills.

Maybe you should throw together a mailing list

protostar@hotmail.com

Come on people, lets get those votes in.

Good Luck, and Good Idea,

PRAXEUM

I'd love to participate, as a teacher or a student. I'm pretty good with the lightsaber and have completed Jedi Master difficulty with only dying 4 times throughout the whole game. ;)

Though I'm in my last year of high school and would only be able to really help out friday nights and saturday and sunday due to study.

I could be your first Australian teacher! :p

Having succesfully run a Jedi Training school already the first week the game was out (80 students). I would have to contend that something "regular" of this magnitude would be a bad idea, heres why.

The best place to learn tactics is in adequate environment, this is a game there are defined moves you can do, the trick is using them at the right time. These situations pop up at better and ultimatley more cooler momments inside chaotic multplayer games. I suggest that for all of you people who would like some help learning either the moves or tactics, get with a "friend" and have him show you some ropes, or advice. Group training is not conductice, as people typically just copy "your" style, which to say the least is annoying.

Secondly, Training people is not easy business, it takes away from an experienced player's game time, and it is not productive for more expereinced players, as it just pits them agasint newbs, instead of a jedi training school i suggest an elite jedi battle ground, for advanced saber users that want a nice pleasant atmosphere to show off some tactics, and bring something new to the table. This way "everyone" benifits.

Thanks for the webspace for this rant :D

id attend, currently my trainer is myself and bots, tho dont get me wrong, i can woop any jedi master bot with ease, but i need to get used to online play and coping with my ping, which isnt easy in FFA servers (the second i start swinging my saber someone snipes me or grenades me)

I think Silent Wolf has some good points. If you think about it. Most full Jedi, had only a few padawans if I'm not mistaken.

Perhaps The Academy could be more of a people networking service. If a person is looking for help, they could get hooked up with a teacher. The two could run around in public servers with the trainer offering advice and maybe pulling the trainee aside for quick lessons. Hands on learning is the way to go.

Hi, Rosco here. This sounds like a great idea! (I voted yes), and I would be glad to be a trainer. I've found out a lot of really really helpful tips in how to win saber matches over the past week or two, and I would very much like to pass these invaluabe tips on to other players to make the floor more even. Great idea and I hope the site goes up soon. =)
