BIG Volumetric shading bug (please read and comment)......

Occasionally a black line will appear from the enemies to their shadow, it looks really bad. The fourth time I completed JK2 there was a line from Tavion to her shadow throughout the whole battle. Another big problem with this shading is when enemies shadows appear on the sky.

I noticed that too, when I tried volumetric shadows. Some characters had a dark line attaching their shadows to their heads, and it looked decidedly odd. :(

 

The other problems I noticed (in the very first level), was that if you had a stormtrooper standing above you (down in the tunnel where you turn off the generator so you can get into the room to open all the doors), their shadow came through the ceiling - with a massive hit in framerate.

 

And on the way down in the big elevator (also in the first level), Jan's shadow travels up and down the wall, and it looks very odd.

 

I believe these bugs have already been reported, though. It's a shame that they don't seem to work properly, because I always try to use properly cast shadows in games that I play. However, later on the framerate dropped to an unacceptable level with volumetric shadows turned on, so I had to knock them off.

 

I can't say that I noticed many of these problems when playing Elite Force with shadows turned on...

I noticed the polygon problem in some of the scenes (making Kyle look older than I suppose he's meant to be), as well as the fact that random red-colored polygons often appear on Kyle's face. (example: the last cutscene.)

Another thing that kind of annoys me but isn't really a bug . . . everyone has the same bad teeth with that little gap, and the badly placed lips. It's pretty funny.
