Some sort of Counter Strike Mod?

Has anybody got some plans on making some sort of "Counter Strike" mod for JK2? Some sort of Co-op team mod, very different that CTF.

 

Like 'a specially trained Rebel team vs. a group specially trained stormtroopers'. With all new special and fantastic weapons which are used only by those specially trained people?

 

And with missions like:

-The rebels have to find and retrieve a disk with plans about the deathstar from an imperial base. And the stormtroopers defending it.

- The stormtroopers have to find and retrieve some Rebel leader so they can torture him. And the rebels defending him/her..

- Or the rebels go on a Search and Rescue operation to free captured fellow-rebels and the imperials should prevent that..

- Or the rebels need to blow up a shield generator, guarded by stormies..

- or the stormtroopers having to infiltrate a rebel camp to blow up their x-wings or steal their lightsabers..

 

etc etc..

 

I would love to see such a great new mod.

it doesn't neccesarily have to be like counter strike. I was just thinking of a mission-based team mode. So u have missions to do, other missions then capturing someone's flag. Team based missions. Not necessarily like CS.

Sounds like a great idea, except for the stealing lightsabers part...that's a bit far fetched. I mean, you think all the Jedi are going to leave their sabers laying around? Not likely, and the only other way to get it would be to kill them and in that case it might as well just be team deathmatch, especially since stormtroopers would have no clue on how to use a lightsaber...but everything else sounds like a great idea.

Counter-Strike is famous because it was probebly the first real team based game on the internet.

 

i wished Raven would of done something similar but of course with StarWars. But I guess I,d have to wait for a MOD.

 

and no, i dont want an exact carbon copy of Coutner-Strike but with StarWars theme. but just something where they throw imperial vs rebels in team play with objectifs. not mindless slaughter like Team FFA.

I think people are getting the wrong idea here. i don't think anyone wants CS in Star Wars, what would be neat is a gamestyle that involves:

 

1)A team objective

2)A round system. Once you are dead, you're dead for the round.

3)Maybe a class system. It looks really stupid and untrue to the Star Wars universe to see Stormtroopers running around with lightsabres and having so many Jedi in one place. No, I'm not a Star Wars nut... I've watched the films and that was it... but it still looks weird.

Then don't call it CS, or mention CS, CS is EVIL, IT SPAWNED THE DEVIL! IT ATE MY KIDS! IT KILLED MY DOG! IT CREATED THE OLSEN TWINS! IT IS THE VERY DAMNATION OF MODING! and anything else i forgot.

 

Seriously, CS doesn't belong in JO.

 

Call it ANYTHING besides Counter-Strike, the game doesn't need any more free advertisement considering IT SUCKS.

 

TeamTac WOULD be cool, but i can't see what classes could be made up in JO.

Oh, a CS mod is easy enough to do. Just start a server and type /devmap [mapname]

 

There's no wallhack, of course, but we have the godmode and silly amounts of ammo. And best of all, a server with cheats enabled will automaticallly attract all the llamas you can wish for. :p

Well off the top of my head:

 

1)Jedi. Can only use the sabre and force powers. Fast but can't take alot of damage.

 

2)Stormtrooper. Can use the blaster and fletcher. Good accuracy with the blaster (since they're supposed to be trained with the things). Not very fast, but can take a fair amount of damage (their armour should do something apart from looking menacing), maybe just give them a high force field limit.

 

3)Those Green Alien guys. Obviously snipers.

 

4)Lando. Make him an engineer, good at using explosives, items such as the force field and taking control of turrets (if you put them in multi-player).

 

5)Imperial officiers. Capable of accessing certain areas of the maps, e.g. doors. Equiped with binocs (if they're put into multiplayer) and blaster. Would probably be more useful in large open maps.

 

Simply put you could assign each character specific weapons/items and different attributes of speed, health and accuracy. If you managed to get turrets and ATSTs into multiplayer then you could also have specific characters for using them.

Well, if it was done well it would be really good. CS is really Team FFA - not many people rescue the hostages or plant the bomb unless there are only 2 or 3 people left in the round... RTCW does a better job than CS, and it would be good to see a mod that does better than RTCW in JO.

lol Sorry for mentioning CS, but at that time it was the closest way for me to explain what I was talking about. All I wanted was some other Team/Co-Op thing to play with in JK2, cuz CTF and Team FFA just got old on me.. :) thanks for all the replies.
