Guest vrb
When I first got FC 1 1/2 years ago, I was highly disapointed. So much so that I didn't play it again for 3 months. I then started playing it and I became kind of determined to beat the offline portion of the game. After this I started playing online and I had a lot more fun than offline. I am currently ranked in the top ten despite not having played for a good month now. Such is the poor state of the number of people who play it anymore. The quality of players has fallen WAY off. It gets old playing the same old maps with the same old boring stategy. What I disliked about FC: * The interface was terrible. *The gameplay was not so hot either. *On the multiplayer, if you had air and you used it right- you could not lose. Which why BG's players why AA is more powerful in BG's. *The multiplayer. That game lagged more than any other I've played, and that was with 4 people at the most! *The at-at's were not as powerful as they should have been. II did learn a cheat near the end of my FC 'career' which allows you to fire a massive blast from your chin gun. It's possible to blow a base up with one blast. I've seen it done. What I liked: *The multiplayer. Also on my dislikes. It's just much better than the boring offline part. *The challenge of defending your base from varrying stategies such as rushing, air attacks. *The bunkers. Kind of fun to have something to aim for rather than just taking out a base. *The ground artillary. Very useful in ground only games. A concept I came up with btw for this game. Much to the hatred of certain other top players. :-) Now for Bg's I think this game is slowly growing on me. I have been playing AOE's and AOKs for many moons now. Bg's makes some great improvements on those games. Honestly though, I still prefer AOKs though. Bg's comes across to me as...rushed. I get the sense it was pushed into production and they did all they could to get it out before Christmas. Some of the graphics on the game is fine. But, honestly, how can anyone tolerate the looks of the wookies? They look SO unrealistic, it's unreal. It's such a turn off I wouldn't want to be the wookies. That all being said-The game is growing on me and I find myself having more fun playing it online. I did try to play it offline for 5 minutes and was bored out of my mind. The campaigns were simply stupid and too easy to beat. I guess I just prefer multiplayer. Is the game better than FC? Yes. Is it better than AOks? No. But, that's not bad. I liked FC multiplayer despite it's terrible flaws. So, I can easily put up with the small flaws I've noticed in BGs. Still, I am waiting for Age of myths. That game looks really good! And the game I'm most addicted too right now: Return to castle wolfenstien. I'm rambling now.
duder
Ive never played FC, but I agree with your points on GB. But remember whilst AOK seems like the more complete game still, you probably have two or three patches added to it, or at least I have, so we have to be patient, the best is yet to come, and I am really enjoying kicking ass with my Drroid Destroyers!!! But I did play a AoC game last night and I still prefer it to.
Guest vrb
I will admit to not having tried the trade alliance. Maybe I should try them. As for patches, they can only do so much. Yes, for gameplay. But the graphics and what not might not be touched. Like I said, I like the game. Just unsure how long I'll be playing.
duder
U gotta give them some credit, in AoK all the units for all the civs look the same, there is real diversity in GB!!!
Com Raven
I said this before, and I'll do it again ... BG is Baldur's Gate series ... You may be talking about GB Just keep it right for me (I love both and sometimes get confused without anyone adding to it ... )
