Anon Posted April 11, 2002 Share Posted April 11, 2002 Just thought its kinda Ironic with the starwars episode 2 being titled: Attack of the clones and being released in a month or so and also that women over in italy supposedly being pregnent with the first cloned baby. that was created by that crazy scientist. i read somewhere that he would go do his crazy cloning stuff in the middle of the ocean in international waters if that didn't let him do his cloning. Vestril Posted April 11, 2002 Share Posted April 11, 2002 What's awesome is that this is all stuff from Lucas's head from like 30 years back...the timing is really cool and it's not like he's just catering to the times, it's either coincidental or visionary I'm betting on the former, but enough people will think the former that it'll catch on, and then, of course, there will be the people that think he's just playing to the times, pay no mind to the fact that he wrote about the Clone Wars many, many years ago... It's nothing new in the SF universe. Of course, in terms of real-life cloning...well, someone had to let the Genie out of the bottle sooner or later, in the name of science. Then in the name of compassion, the first human clone is born. Then in the name of economics, the first genetically enhanced cloned workers are spawned. Then in the name of national security, some country somewhere decides it has to protect it's rights...and starts spawning cloned soldiers. And so begins a genetic arms race, as the mad militarists realise that Country X has a bigger army...and so it goes on, until there's war... And the survivors will put the cork back in the bottle, and tell us wisely that the Genie should never have been let out, and should never be again.
