Lord Nodata Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 hope that lays some arguments to rest... I'll also post the other "special jumps" here later...so stay tuned. This was taken from the model viewer, it was just screenshotted and converted to an animated gif with photoshop.
Valdarious Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 LOL, I did the exact same thing in the butterfly post area. Made my own gif just like you did. Glad to see someone else is doing things the same way.
Lord Nodata Posted April 12, 2002 Author Posted April 12, 2002 here's the butterfly to the left..i like this one better cause they do a little "twist" in the air in this one...
Monarky2000 Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 quit it man stormtroopers are dumb and cant do things like that only us jedi and sith lol
Pseudofun Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 theres still no way to do these in SP or MP right?
Darth Obvious Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 Not sure as of yet how to do these? AND are there 2 butterfly moves? The first GIF looks like the move Maul does right before he tosses the droid at the door while fighting both Qui Gon and Obi-Wan. The second looks like the move he pulls while fighting Obi-Wan (after Qui Gon is dead) about half way through their impressive sabre exchange, after his dual sabre is gone

enDless_Deliriu Posted April 13, 2002 Posted April 13, 2002 it tells me that it made a file call without initialization. And when I try using the File "View JK2 bots" it asks if it should assume some weird directory is base path, but won't let me change what that is if I click no. and if I click yes it still doesn't work
Valdarious Posted April 13, 2002 Posted April 13, 2002 This doesnt work with the view JK2 bots, since there is a file somewhere saying that the bots are on W:\ drive, which I have seen in a couple places but not sure where. I asume they were on a W: drive when they were developing the game. Just hit open and point to the models/players/whatevermodelfolder/model.glm
Jedith Posted April 13, 2002 Posted April 13, 2002 does anybody know how to do these??? or are these just accesible to the bots???
Bacon00 Posted April 13, 2002 Posted April 13, 2002 I've asked a few people, and a few have said they did it during SP, but have no idea how. I'm sure there is a way to do them, otherwise the animations wouldn't still be there.. unless the devs got sloppy and didn't remove unused animations (which I doubt).
Eternity Posted April 13, 2002 Posted April 13, 2002 Looks awesome. Someone mod it by binding it to a key, like move to the left, jump and duck, or something.
Hell Raiser Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 We've got a double saber cheat, we've got these Darth Maul moves. Maybe Raven didn't incorporate them into the game because of balance issues, so they left the pieces in there for us to bring 'em together. Why waste such cool shiznit? [/far out theory]
enDless_Deliriu Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 Hell, that was actually my theory. Originally they were going to have a double saber fighting style, complete with it's own moves, so they took some of Maul's animations (by the nature of the light staff, and how it works, it has to be a bit more acrobatic and showy). but they didn't have time, so they left the stuff in there for us to play with. Either that, or they intend to implement it later and so why take out code you're just going to put back in right?
H.B.M.C. Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 I know for a fact that I've done at least one of them, if not both. Problem is, I don't know HOW I did them! I know that I was in that "pit" part of the Pit level against Tavion (or the Ladder Level). I've seen myself do these strange moves and I don't know how. I've tried replicating them, but it didn't work. I can only jump sideways off walls and run forwards up walls, backflip, and land behind the person chasing me (very useful in Ladder). BYE
RpTheHotrod Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 This HAS been spotted in multiplayer according to many "witnesses"

Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 Originally posted by RpTheHotrod This HAS been spotted in multiplayer according to many "witnesses" Don't doubt the witnesses, I'm sure they've seen people doing it. However, like me, the people doing the move probably did it by accident and have no idea how to replicate it! (which is a shame, 'cause it'd make Sabre fights even cooler to watch). BYE
RpTheHotrod Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 Not doubting at all. Just saying WITNESSESS have seen it. I personally havn't. According to one post, the poster said this one player kept doing it over and over, so that's why he posted on the forums asking about it. However, most people indeed....to the butterfly by accident.
enDless_Deliriu Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 because they're actually a new evil corporation bent on galactic domination. However they don't yet have that strength, so they satisfy their evil needs by teasing gamers who go through every file that comes with a game for "hidden" things.
S!TH!NAT0R Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 DAMMITT!! -More tormentage for my poor S!TH Soul!
