Have you 'done the butterfly'?

Why have people voted for Yes and I know how! and yet there's no explination here. Once and for all, why not write someone at Raven (including the two pictures of the moves to make sure there's no confusion) and ASK if it's possible. Then you'll have your answer, as well as see if people are lying

I e-mailed raven with a link to the gif posted above.. hopefully they will respond, but I have a feeling they don't really care/are too busy.

the only time I've seen the move used is in the SP by bots, I went thru the final level of the SP again today and three shadowtroopers on three separate occasions all used the butterfly and the cartwheels against me.

 

I've never seen it used on the servers or recorded in a game demo, and I wouldn't have even noticed it in the game had it not been for this thread and the animations that have been shown of the move.

 

I've never seen the bots use these moves in a multiplayer game, only in the SP.

 

if they are valid moves that just haven't been discovered yet, I'd love to learn them, if they can only be accessed thru cheats, then I'd rather play with the moves that are already available to everyone in the game.

Believe me I have tried to redo the animations.cfg by replacing the moves and rewriting all the frame numbers etc. It still didnt work. I personaly think there might be a command to do this but I just think

1. No one has cracked it.

2. Someone has cracked it but has no idea about this forum.

3. Someone has cracked it but doesnt want to tell a single soul.

That's exactly how I accomplished it. You sure you went about it correctly? Our methods may have differed in a vital way.

We aren't wondering how to do this via replacing animations... that's pretty much a given "answer." We're trying to figure out if it's a move that can be done with key combinations... and it sounds like it can't (or no one has figured it out yet).

No, AGAIN kenseiden, you did not accomplish that move. You made it look like it was the butterfly move when you switched the animation. La dee freakin da, I could make it look like luke was taking a dump whenever I roll, it wouldn't mean there would be a turd at the end. Let's see if someone can actually do the move.

Not at all. I try to be helpful to people in need (I'm not refering to what I've posted in this thread as 'help' of course), and I rarely attack anyone. If I do, it's usually because they've attacked someone else for no reason. The reason I added the line in my original post about whining, was for people who would just flame me instead of calmy saying, "Sorry, but I just don't believe you." I appreciate you clarifying the situation in a civil manner. I now see it was innappropriate for me to even post. Sorry...

You, on the other hand, are hostile. Had you simply said, "Kenseiden - actually, it's common knowledge that you can easily replace animations. We just want to know if it's possible to do these moves without resorting to that." this wouldn't have even been an issue. Instead, you chose to lash out sarcastically. You're exactly the type of person I try to avoid being on forums. Thanks for providing a good example.

I believe thats the only place the Buterfly move is done, by bots in SP.

I love how after a few posts by people a thread goes from having a good cause to being worthless.

 

It's wonderful if you were able to replace the animations and are now able to see yourself do the flip. But, I think what they were REALLY going for was being able to do it and having others see them. That's one of the nicer aspects of the game, the various jumps people can do and how neat they look with spinning lightsabers.

That's really not common knowledge. I bet you the majority of the 25,000+ members that come here had no idea that that is possible.

No, I would never had said that. You aren't DOING the move at all. You are doing a roll, which to yourself LOOKS like a completely different move. So again NO, switching animations isn't DOING the move, so "resorting to that" would never have come out of my mouth.

 

Avoiding people like me doesn't make you right, but it sure doesn't bother me if you do.

Yes, I realize it was useless mentioning it, now. However, at the time I genuinely thought it was something people might be interested in. I figured that if it wasn't common knowledge, giving people incentive would allow them to figure it out, and that by finding out for themselves they'd be able to make a judgement call whether to share it or not (if, after realizing everyone still views them rolling, found it even worth mentioning). Now it's apparent that my post was unrelated, and I misinterpreted the thread.

Stop nitpicking. I understand it isn't technically "doing the move." If you have to be that literal, mentally edit out "without resorting to that." It still serves as a good example of how you could have (even if you thought I was a jerk) taken the upper hand in responding to me. Even if you didn't want to take the upper hand, once my intent was clear you could have attempted to see things from my perspective. Instead you continually ignore my intent in favor of pointing out that I didn't technically perform the move (a concept I understood immediately after Bacon00's reply).

 

I didn't say I avoid people like you, I said I avoid BEING people like you. You know, people who don't care that the way they say things can be interpreted badly? Looking at it from your perspective, I see that my post was unneeded and innaccurate. I apologize if you, or anyone else felt it was harsh, and was offended by it. I'll edit it out of the thread, so it causes no further harm or clutter. I responded sarcastically to you, because that's the way you responded to me. I continue to respond in a harsh manner, because you do as well.
