Should those popups and banners be removed from the forum?

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! When are these admins gonna remove those annoying popups and banners and commercional, promotional mumbo jumbo from the forum! It's making the forum work very slow!

 

And who f'ucking cares about reading them anyway or even clicking on them? Now, who agrees with me that those things have to go?

 

P.S. I am also gonna post a poll about this.

They might be very annoying, but thats how they keep this thing alive, it the price we have to pay to post here.....so Im not going to complain....

I don't think so. A lot of other forums are still "alive" without having any popups or banners. Besides nobody even cares about clicking on them.

My forum ha no poups or banners, it's a Monkey Island forum. But its new and has only 10 real members.

By "keeing the forum alive," he doesn't mean that there are a lot of people posting and stuff. Though that certainly is an aspect of a forum being "alive."

 

No. What it really means is that the forums, and the servers running them, are actually up and running, hence "alive." Believe it or not, folks, it takes money to keep these things always connected to the Internet with high connection speeds. The owners of the site have to pay these fees out of their own pockets. The banners might provide some relief to those pockets.
