ACGe0rge
I, like many on this board, am seeing yellow skies and yellow space in the game. It's a little dissapointing since the skies looked better with my old video card (The rest of the game is absolutelly beautiful with my new Gf3). I've read about how using an older driver might solve the problem but wouldn't it make sense for a brand new game to work with the newest drivers? I understand that new games often have glitches and so far I've been very impressed with the almost nonexistance of bugs in this game. My dissapointment comes in that there has been no indication by Lucasarts, Raven, or anyone else that a patch is even being worked on. I realize patches can take time but at least let us know that there will eventually be one. It wouldt make me feel better just to know the developers gave a darn about customer service. Another problem I'm having with JK2 is in the Swamp area. The fog seems to pull a dissapearing trick on me. In some areas, it will vanish then suddenly race out over the water if I look at it at the right angle. In other areas it wont show up at all. It's a shame because when it is there, the fog looks great. I realize that these problems dont make the game unplayable and I've been able to beat the game 3 times with no major errors. I'm just a bit upset because part of what makes the game so good is that it is absolutely beautiful when all the graphics work correctly. For those interested here's my system specs PIII 550 512M RAM Geforce 3 Ti-200 So far I've been able to play with maxed out grahic settings and 1024x768 32bit resolution. I've had almost no lag except in a few areas where there a tons of bad guys, and the lag in those places hasn't been too bad.
NoodlyGod
I'd say try changing your color setting to 16 bit, and mess with the textures setting.
ACGe0rge
I'm bumping this in hopes of eventually getting an answer.
Mertado
Raven has commented on this. It seems the latest nVidia drivers are to blame. Raven only tested with 2.3.1.1, and nVidia apparently added some crazy OpenGL stuff that broke a few things.
Econ
Use the drivers that they recommend..
ACGe0rge
I'm bumping this because I still would like to know if there are iany patches in the works. I realize that there are always problems with games when they are first released, so it's not a big suprise that NVIDIA's new driver caused problems. I just figured that there eventually would be a patch to make the new driver acceptable. All I really want is some official news form RAveon the JK2 site that lets us know they are aware of the problems and they are working to fix it. I would even settle for a note on the official site that says they cant/wont fix this problem. I dont mean to whine and moan about this. In fact, I have been very impressed whith how few bugs there are in this game. I have purchased a lot of games soon after their release date only to find they are barely, or even arent playable due to all the bugs they have. I think RAven and Lucas deserve credit for producing a game that has almost no need for a patch. Again, I'd just like to know if they do eventually plan on making one.
