Assault3000
If you liked Jedi Knight II you should try the other three games in the Dark Forces series. Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, and JK's expansion Mysteries of the Sith.
XManny
Originally posted by Jedi_Monk Episode I had one of the deepest plots of any of the SW movies. Because of this, many "fans" missed it completely (because they thought it'd be blatant like with the others) and then went on to say it had no plot. -Acting... yeah... Mark Hamill deserved the Best Actor Oscar for his portrail of Like Skywalker in ANH :rolleyess Ian McDarmid (Palpatine) and Ewan McGregor are great in Episode I. But acting was never SW's strongest suit. -The music sounded like Star Wars music, period. -Childish only on the surface. The real plot is all about Palpatine and his grab for power. That's what SW1 was all about, and Lucas has said so. Palpatine, under the guise of Dark Sidious, makes a deal with the Federation. They blockade Naboo in return for loosening taxation of traid routs. Naboo, as we know, is the world Palpatine hails from and reprisents. With Naboo and the Federation as pawns, he does three things: he backs Valorum into a corner and forces him to show his weakness. He manipulates Amidala to call a vote of no-confidence, and then he gets the sympathy vote to become Chancellor, himself. 1) What happened to chracters like Darth Vader, Han Solo or Boba Fett? Pretty much everything in Ep1 is a remix of somethign we've seen before, and there are no characters that truly stand out. 2) If you think so, good, but you make it sound like there is no place for other people's opinions and what you like is good, period. The Ep1 soundtrack is childish and repetitive, IMO. 3) It is mainly because Anaking is such an idiotic actor. He somehow doesn't fit at all. I can't take him serious. I'm not saying Ep1 is bad, I enjoyed it actually, but it is definately not perfect.
ACGe0rge
I am a pretty big SW fan but do admit that all the movies are flawed in one way or another. Here's a list of some of my opinions. 1) Acting. None of the SW films could be classified as acting masterpieces. I disagree with the post above where someone thought MArk Hamil deserved an Oscar. He did OK, but was far from Oscar worthy in my opinion. Anakin in EP 1 was ard to listen to sometimes. If you watch the behind the scenes stuff on the DVD, he was originally cast becasue he didnt sound as rehersed as the other kids who tried out for the part. You can also tell that George Lucas was getting frustrated with Anakin's (cant remember the kids name who plaed him) performance at times. 2) Music. The music is great in all 3 movies IMO. I think John Williams did a great job. I think the new music was one of the best parts of EP 1 3) Characters. I agree that none of the characters were well developed in Ep1. None of them were very well developed in ANH either with the exception of Luke. I think the reasons the characters seemed so much better in ANH was becasue the bad guys wee a lot scarier. Darth Vader was in quite a few scenes in ANH and was spooky in all of them. The Sith Lords in Ep 1 seemed to barely be in the movie. Sidius didnt really do anything spooky, and Darth Maul only had like 2 lines in the whole film. His fighting scenes were great but he just didnt seem near as scary as Vader was. 4)Depth. None of the star wars movies were very "deep" except for ESB. I wont say much more on this since it's more of a personal opinion of what is there and how important it is. I'd also like to say that there are 2 ways of looking at the Star Wars movies. One is to look at them each as individual films to be judged seperatelly. The other is to look on them more how George Lucas looks at them. He has stated in interviews that each film is only 1 act in a 6 act play. Once we get to see all the acts in that play, we will be able to look at Star Wars as one 12 hour movie instead of 6 individual parts. While this will be one long @$$ movie, I think a lot of things like depth and character development can be looked at differently. Lastly, for those who wonder why someone would buy a SW game when they dont like SW, I thought Elite Force was a great game yet I didnt really care for the Voyager TV show. I dont think you have to like one to enjoy the other.

Sithxace
if u like star trek and hate starwars, that is something i dont get. Star Trek is ostly talking with starships and little fighting. In starwars theres a story behind everything and a huge story. Starwars has fighting, talking, story, starship fighting, like everything.
Quenaelin
Star Wars Episode I is movie where Star Wars fans of episodes IV-VI are bringing their kids. It is kids movie, plot is just maked to puzzle those parents who are taking their kids to watch Star Wars. Anakin is child, Jar-Jar is childish and almost everything is childish (except this plot what I allready mentioned), but so is Donald Duck and even older people are watching it.
