Favourite Star Wars character

What is everyone's favourite star wars character?

Mines is Darth Sidious.

I think he is better as Sidious , when he is on the rise to power of the Empire. He is classic when he is the Emperor , however i find it more cool when he is just a shadow and more mysterious.

darth vader/anakin skywalker---once episode 3 comes out, it will be such a treat to watch his evolution as a character from childhood to death!

han solo as well---just too cool of a character. he brings his indiana jonesish character to starwars (i still crack up when he bullrushes into a room full of stormtroopers in ANH and when he's like "hey! it's me!" and you can't forget when he's all slick and cool when he blasts greedo and throws a coin at the bartender :) )

You mean he brings his Han Solo-ness to Indiana Jones. Solo was here first :)

For me, from the Extended Universe

Guys: Kyp Durron, Anakin Solo (even before NJO. "No Crakana!")

Girls: Mara Jade, Admiral Dala (in Dark Saber, not the Jedi Academy Trilogy)

Movies:

Guy: Vader(I actually cried when he

died in RotJ

and my dad had to tell me

'It's ok, he'll come back to life if you rewind the tape and watch it again"

(spoiler tags just in case some of you haven't seen Return of the Jedi..like my roommate hasn't yet (despite me watching the movies like 6 times a month if not more)

Girl: Didn't really have one..not much choice here either. Leia or Mon Mothma basically... Though if I had to choose, I'd say Aunt Beru! (think that was her name)

Ya gotta take wedge antilles(though i don't know how to spell his name, and i'm to lazy to go check any of my rogue sqaud books).

Female, i don't know, one of the other handmaidens in Ep1 because their all filler no killer.

From the films: Vader (If only you knew the power of the dark side! Apology accepted Captain Needa.), Han Solo (It's not my fault!)

From the EU: Boba Fett (so much more than a Hutt's henchman),

Kir Kanos (guess that one was obvious really) Jaina Solo (ala the front cover of Dark Journey)

Honourable mentions go to Boss Nass and Watto

aliens: :greedo: greedo he rocks, rodians even sound cool, hasta marulia

humans: han solo, how can you not love him, he's not just the coolest starship captain/smuggler, he's the coolest movie hero period.

after starwars i defenitly became a Harrison Ford fan.

droids: IG-88, come on, how can you beat a android bountyhunter, Fett doesn't even come close in the cool factor here.

I don't know much about IG except for his name, does anyone know if he features in a big roll in some book or comic or something?

Bad guys: Darth Vader ofcourse, Maul may have the moves but only Vader would use the force equivalent of a *****slap on that chubby officer during the meeting on the deathstar in a new hope.

the place to be: Mos Eisley cantina ofcourse, i was totally overwhelmed as a kid during my first visit to the cantina, the atmosphere, the aliens.

the cantina must be home to the all the best badass coolguys of the starwars universe plus a few drunks for fodder during barfights. oh yeah, there's that funky music i can't get out of my head for the rest of my life :band: tu tu tudu tadataadaa

aight, first i want to clear something up. darth sidious IS NOT the emperor. the guy who posted this thread had it wrong, no offense. they are two different guys.

now, for my favorite people in star wars:

dark side: definitely darth maul. he is a bad ass with the lightsaber.

light side: obi-wan in his younger days. true, he can still woop some major butt when he is older, but in phantom, he was awesome. that last battle is the best scene in the whole movie.

rebel: han solo, all the way. he has the best lines.

imperial: tarkin (the commander of the first death star). he is ruthless and very very mean. he blew up a figgin planet!

alien: has to be chewie. he is the coolest sidekick

darth sidious IS NOT the emperor

erm Darth Sidious = Senator Palpatine -> Chancellor -> Emperor

They're even both played by the same guy! (I haven't checked the credits yet but they look identical in hooded robes, even down to facial expressions and voice intonation.)

Evidence from Dark Hunter also supports this.

IG-88 features in a short story in Tales of the Bounty Hunters that pretty much gives his entire story (it's pretty cool IMHO). There may be stories focusing on specific hunts of his in Star Wars Journals.

I have two rivalling favourite characters, and one is Yoda. It just can't get any funnier when you have a little green alien-midget who doesn't even talk like a sane person. The other character is your average Jawa. I love the Jawa scene in Episode VI where Artoo Detoo is rolling through that Tatooine canyon, and the Jawas jump him. I will always remember the part where the Ion gun bearer jumps in front of Artoo, yells out something like, "Hoominoomina!" and blasts the little droid.

Rock... ow! Wall... ow! Priceless china vase... ow! Head... ow!

That thing that sits on Jabba .. Selacious Crumb I think.

Other than that, the old obi-wan I think.

But I HATE the attention Boba Fett gets. He's alright, but the way he dies- consider these points:

1) He is killed by a guy who is half blind with his arms tied to his sides.

2) That scream as he dies! Go on, put Jedi in your VCR (or whatever you crazy US people use) and play the bit where he screams. Rewind, play it again. Listen! That is not how a remotely cool character dies.

Rant Over.

Oh yeah, and I know in the expanded universe he doesn't die because the sarlacc can't digest his armour blah blah....

It's a tie:

Obi-Wan. :ben: What I have heard and saw, Ewan really owns the role after AOTC and looks like he enjoyed playing it, but let's not forget Alec. All the fame might have been too much for him when he still lived, but Academy members were really punch of idiots, when they didn't give an Oscar of his performance, which will look even better with support of Ewan.

Yoda. :yoda: My master. Pure and simple.
