Guest Sherack Nhar Posted July 28, 2001 Posted July 28, 2001 Ummm... no. Post something interesting and related to the forum, if you want to keep this thread alive.
Clefo Posted July 28, 2001 Posted July 28, 2001 It might be a little premature to start some clans considering that GB hasn't even come out yet. But like who cares eh?
Guest Sherack Nhar Posted July 29, 2001 Posted July 29, 2001 Not that premature. After all, GB's gameplay and pacing will be very similar to AoK, so fans of AoE are already familiar with the game. I might even start a guild myself. Just an idea though.
Guest Tie Guy Posted July 29, 2001 Posted July 29, 2001 I never really go into clans very much. Did you guys?
Guest Sherack Nhar Posted July 29, 2001 Posted July 29, 2001 Not for an RTS. I've been part of a Diablo 2 clan though, before I got bored with the game. For this GB clan... we'd organize some tournaments, and maybe a ladder. We'll need to think about a catchy name - that's the toughest part
Guest Tie Guy Posted July 29, 2001 Posted July 29, 2001 Yeah, tournaments would be fun and we could have alot of skirmishes with like 8 players. As for the name.........i'm not very good with names.
observer_20000 Posted July 29, 2001 Posted July 29, 2001 Why do people always mention the first post by starting a thread about it, I mean, what's the point?
Clefo Posted July 29, 2001 Posted July 29, 2001 Maybe they just feel special when they do. Heres a Clan: Fledgling Undercover Convert Killers
Paragon_Leon Posted July 31, 2001 Posted July 31, 2001 I'm thinking of starting the Paragon-clan again with a friend of mine. Unfortunately we won't be playing much online. hehheh Now for a future sig for Paragon: --==++P_A_R_A_G_O_N++==--
Guest Tie Guy Posted July 31, 2001 Posted July 31, 2001 What's teh point of a clan if you don't play online?
Guest Tie Guy Posted July 31, 2001 Posted July 31, 2001 Weel it could be just for fun, and for skirmishes.
Com Raven Posted August 1, 2001 Posted August 1, 2001 Clefo, one good reason is that some leagues start their work pre-release, and if you are late they won't let you join or your name of choice is already given to some other clan !! Just a little hint ...
Lord JayVizIon Posted August 1, 2001 Posted August 1, 2001 maybe in addition to our friends who we'll play with, we can start our own clan since we were some of the first to post here. wouldn't be a bad idea, i could see the potential based on some of your posts....
Com Raven Posted August 1, 2001 Posted August 1, 2001 Hehe, a group of fanatics !! Just look at Isreal area to see what those can do !!
Paragon_Leon Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 clan-war ! clan-war ! clan-war ! hehehe.. no, we wouldn't play online that much, but i'm seriously considering it for GB. and by that time I'll have cable, so that will make it very easy.
Com Raven Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 Cable won't help you much when your opponents have bad connections !! That was only major flaw of AoK, it's multiplayer performance !
Paragon_Leon Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 are you KIDDING ?!?! it's multiplayer performance ?!!? o wait, you mean online. oh well. that's just a risk you take. i'm sure regular players on a zone will have the speed to keep up.
Com Raven Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 Wish you were right, but I am regularly playing Mechwarrior 4 in sl and vl leaggues, and you still find guys with 56k modems ....
Paragon_Leon Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 yep, but you're talking a completely different game then. I imagine AOK is much less 'heavy' on an online network. of course you could be on the safe side and at the beginning of a game ask what kind of connection people have. then you're prepared of relieved.
Lord JayVizIon Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 how is mechwarrior 4 anyways? i thought mech 3 was cool, esp. when i only got it for 20 dollars......
Paragon_Leon Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 i only know what type of game it is... have seen some screenshots, but haven't played the game. it looked like heavier code to me (ie more demanding on a system) the system specs from GB reveal a bit that this will be a lo-spec game for most people
