Pvt_Dancer
Does a dark Jedi necessarily equal evil? DO they always get sucked in to committing exclusively evil deeds or has there been accounts of Dark Jedi fighting on the right side? I guess what I mean is... when you (hypothetically) fight with your emotions, you are tapping into the dark side of the Force does this always twist your deeds to evil? CupO'Coffee
like yoda said: "fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads so suffering" so it is not evil as such to fight with his emotions, i'm sure obi-wan had emotions too when darth maul thrusted his lightstaff into qui-gon, but it is bad to be guided by his emotions all the time, because one will become full of anger eventually which leads to... well you get the idea. and persons full of anger tend to do things that seem to them as a solution for the anger despite they are maybe evil/not right
Pol Favre
there is rightious anger...not all anger leads to suffering, if the anger is dealt with...i don't like the 'no emotion' aspect of being a jedi. i'd probably flow more like kyle.
Jokis
That's probably why Kyle taps both sides of the force...
Pvt_Dancer
So its not all black and white... but in one of the EP2 previews, don't they say something about Anakin not loving Amidala because love will cause fear and anger and blah blah blah? Or did I get that wrong? And in RoTJ Luke tried to get Luke to fight with anger so that he will turn... when Obi Wan launches into his furried attack in Ep1 how the hell does that affect him? enDless_Deliriu
The dark side is the dark side, and so forth. However there are accounts of Dark Jedi not being "evil" Kyp Durron turned to the dark side, but he still fought for what he thought was right. Ended up causing more harm than good though I believe. As far as the thing about love, I think it had to do with the fact that Love could lead to jealousy and all that other dark stuff.
eastcoast2895
i don't think the darkside makes you evil, but it will lead you to make decisions that may cause harm to people. Its like lacking morals, so the person doesn't think about the consequences of hurting people. like enDless_Deliriu said about kyp, he turned to the darkside and tried to do good, but the darkside warped kyps mind into doing things that would accomplish his goal, but hurt innocent people in the process. BCanr2d2
Remember also that Yoda says "A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and events, never attack" A jedi will never use the force to attack someone, but will use it to attack once he is attacked himself. It depends on what you believe about SW EU, Dark Jedi are from EU, therefore they may not really exist, if they aren't considered canon in the SW universe. Dark Jedi are only ever mentioned in books, not in the actual movies. JO is a good way to look at the dominant powers of either a light side or dark side user. Lightning and Grip are there to cause damage, very much the ethos of the dark side, whereas speed and healing are that of the light, they don't lead to the harm of others directly. I would call a Dark Jedi a wildcard, they are on the cusp of going all the way to the dark side, probably not really in control of their emotions, therefore allowing themselves to tap into those dark side skills. It really depends on where the Jedi sits emotionally as to whether I would consider them evil. I would say that they may do some things that are lacking in the moral highground of the light side
CupO'Coffee
i agree with you, but i have to say that speed is not a light sided force, but a neutral one
