if i was to by THE perfect computer only to play this game on, what should the spec. be?

i've heard alotta rumors of computers in the high end, performing poorer than lowers spec. pc's?

XP 2100 = 1.73Ghz my friend

There is no ultimate spec for this system, anything over 1ghz with about 256Mb of ram (ddr or RAMBUS helps alot) and a 64mb graphics card will play it fine. Anything over this is fine.

as for your system im sure u will be pleased but only real downside is the GF4 Mx is actually pretty weak. The regular GF3 card is actually a faster card, saying that it WILL play jedi knight perfectly.

GeForce3 Ti 200 video card

Sound Blaster PCI 512 EAX Soundcard with 4 Cambridge Soundworks SBS52 speakers

Windows 98

Panasonic E70i 17 inch monitor

Perfect PC config for anything (well, specifically Morrowind, really...):

Pentium 4 Northwood 2.4GHz

768MB of those new 533MHz or 600MHz DDR-II RAM (!)

GeForce4 Ti 4600

SB Audigy EX

TWO 40GB HDD on a RAID 0 drive stack :D

Pioneer 16X DVD and/or a DVD-RAM

How much would this thing cost??

Maybe 4000, more or less.

The Ram would push it up quite a bit but you wouldn't need to upgrade your PC for about 8 years at the least!

8 years? ha!

4 years at most! crazy carmack will buit up a new graphic engine in one or two years, for that engine this PC will surely be fine, but again after two years he will make another engine which will suck the last bit of performance out of this system
