MatrixCPA
A hitch warning is just the server's way of saying, "it took me a bit to think about something and that probably caused some lag for any connected clients." It looks like the server is starting up fine. Just type status into the console and it should tell you what map is running and who is connected. If it says, "server not running" instead, then you didn't start any maps in your server.cfg or command line. If that's the case, let me know what type of server (ffa/duel/ctf) you are running and show my your server.cfg and I can help alter it for you to run the maps you want. power_ed
no, i meant.. when ever i try to start a server, it quits the game and the startup module is running.. you know that box that shows before the game starts.. it usually says: 456544 files in folder, joystic not enabled.. then it starts.. well, mine doesnt.. it just stays at that box until i get sick of waiting 10 minutes later and close it.. the game doesnt even start.. (i really apreciate your help dude )

Run the server at "high priority".
Novus
I highly suggest you not run a dedicated server on a single processor box. If your not ready to "dedicate" a computer to running a server don't run a dedicated server. That's kinda the point. Also realize this is a server application so unless you're running NT/2K/XP I also highly suggest you not run a dedicated server. The other Win32 OSs are just not setup to handle the needs of a multi-player gaming server properly. Run a listen server. At least then the game will give some priority to handling server code.
