Naked Chef

I knew THAT would come up. I never really got into it. I watched it with a friend once and he had his own commentary that made it hilarious but the show itself doesn't do as much for me.

For one, I am not into a lot of the foods I see being made. What I mean to say is that, I haven't tried them and so don't associate with them much. I just don't eat enough "sea urchin roe" to be able to be enticed by the dishes. :D

I like the straight up cooking shows myself... Frugle Gourmet is one of my fave's... and the Naked Chef....

:)

No... naked chef is not naked... and thank god. He's a little cute (coming from a heterosexual guy point of view) but not nearly enough to be naked on tv.

Im not sure why they call him the naked chef... I think its because he just has all this cooking wisdom and various recipes in his head and then he like throws these great meal together without any cooking utensils or fancy equipment. Pretty much just his hands and some pans... maybe a spatula or spoon.

Its unfortunate you can't have a watch at home, Spy. Well, if you like cooking its unfortunate.

I want to become a fantastic cook and have all my friends get psyched whenever I throw a dinner party because they know the food will be so fantastic. :D

Aw man... cooking is so much fun. Its not a chore at all. Taking all of these raw ingredients and then heating them, rubbing them, slicing, mincing, mixing... you go through a process and its like alchemy! At the end these different seperate things have been combined to make pure gold... something to be truly experienced and savored. Even meatloaf. :D

Pvt_Dancer, if you like cooking, and games I suggest you find a game called Harvest Moon: Back to Nature/ Playstation, or Save the Homeland for Playstation 2.

If you don't have either of those systems try finding the Emulator Snesx and the ROM Harvest Moon. That was the original game for the Super Nintendo.

Anyway, the Harvest Moon series is like a farming RPG. But not only do you get to grow things, you also cook, and make recipes from the various things you plant. Also, the game has an interesting relationship aspect to it. Even a few mini games each season like festivals with the local village etc.

If you do have an old Playstation, I recommend Back to Nature above all others because of its variety and complexity in recipes and crops.

Not sure I know what "Tosser" means...

Nota, I am TOTALLY a fan of the Harvest Moon series. Actually being able to cook in the Ps2 was awesome even if simplistic. When I first heard about HM I thought it was a weird concept but who could tell that getting up every day and doing the same chores could be so much fun. I love those games.

I miss the festivals in the latest one. I liked being able to compete in Livestock shows and Harvest competitions, asking girls to dance betting on the horse races. But the game is lovely. Better item management too.

Another game that had a cooking system that I loved was Asheron's Call. Don't know if you've played it but the cooking skill is deffinitely a blast. I made a character once that was pretty much just a chef. :D

Iron Chef was huge around school a while back. People would all get together in one room and watch it when it was on. I never really got into it. The bad voice overs and the cheesy show-down premise are funny for a while but as someone actually interested in cooking, there isnt enough content there to keep me interested. Maybe Im just a square...

That show seems like some sort of dream to me... its like, cooking with a live audience and he has a band like with a talk show... its weird.

Plus, one time he made what was essentially a burger: some grilled ground beef, shaped in a patty, between two rolls. He was calling it something else though... weird.
