DeathsHead Posted April 26, 2002 Share Posted April 26, 2002 There needs to be a way to automatically transfer people in game to an ftp site for a map download when they connect to a server and its running a custom map that the client doesnt have. As it is right now, it take 3+ minutes to download a 500K map at a maxrate setting of 18000. You would still wait at the connection screen, but the transfer speed of the map would not be limited to the maxrate setting, and instead would use all available bandwidth either on the ftp server, or max out the clients connection.
