Koenig
Its a madish idea, but what about a few or only a couple of buildings. All it would be is a small sort of door, with a large mound of earth or what have you.You could garrison troops in it, or workers when they are attacked. You could have an underground barracks.Or just the same as above, but above ground.Heres another strange idea, a long range, good against infantry sniper, but crap against anything else.Lastly what about a mech version of the Mounter Trooper(I.e with the flame thrower)
Snowtrooper
Looks interesting. Can the prefab shelter be removed from the game. There are taking up the available space in the game. Imagine the number of shelters you gotta build if your population is 250 in CC.
TheMadDoofer
So!? It's not like you're going to build up an army of 250 in 5 minutes. You grow slower than that, and building prefabs is no big deal except in the very early game.
polaris_crd
Fortress also add to the population. Usaually thats how i boost my pop.
Kryllith
Command Centers add to pop too. I don't think everyone should have underground buildings but maybe it could be a Genosian unique power (kinda like the Gungans with their underwater prefabs). Afterall, in AotC, pretty much all of the Genosian buildings were built into the mountains. Not sure what all they should be allowed to build, perhaps just prefabs but maybe troop centers... Parrakarry
In order to save space w/ Prefabs, if I have my base already fairly developed and moving along, I'll send out 2 or 3 workers. These guys'll go to the far corner of the map, escorted by several Troopers to prevent wild animal damage. There, they'll set up a little "prefab base". I'll build turrets, walls, etc. etc. in order to defend them. Whenever I need shelters, I just build more over there. That way, opponents can't just come to your base and start killing off prefabs; they have to find your Prefab Base.
Lord JayVizIon
hmm, i don't know about underground buidlings. i think the gungans underwater shelters are unique enough, unless of course you there's going to be a future civ that burrows themselves. the idea of a few units that could burrow underground is neat, but sounds a little bit of an imitation of starcraft's zerg lurker units. would definitely add more replay and strategy to the game.
