Feeling the need to upgrade your video card?

Unless you are getting something like below 60 FPS in your game, I say hold off:

"The new chip will be manufactured on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.'s latest 0.13-micron manufacturing process, Huang said. Huang did not reveal the name or specific features of the chip, but did say it was a fundamentally new architecture from the GeForce 4 Titanium introduced earlier this year."

Even if you don't get the new card with the new chipset, the GF4 price will drop significantly by then.

I just bought a GF3 500 during christmas, I have no plans of getting the GF4 because theres hardly anything that was really improved over it.

I think the nvidia team sat down and said, lets rename our GF3's to something else and mass market it. It's like putting a new hood ornament on a car and calling it the 2003 edition.

:fett:

I want and need a new card pretty badly but I am going to have to wait on it anyway. I have some debts to pay off. (anyone need a flight to Aalderan?)

Im running a GeForce 256 though... and that won't last too much longer. Hopefully this summer.

I'm waiting for the Ti4200

200 bucks, almost the same performance as the 4600.

You can be waiting forever if you wait for the next thing.

Now I could wait for the prices to drop when that chip is released, to get a 4600, but by that time the next chip will be announced, so I'd wait till it's out and the prices of the new chip fall...

I'm happy with my regular (before Ti started) Geforce3. I've not checked what my FPS is in game, but I can run Jedi Outcast with everything all the way up and 4x anti-aliasing at 800x600 (which is just fine considering I'm currently using a 15" monitor).

digl you are very impatient =P
