lionsault9
wow.lucasarts had made improvements to galactic battlegrounds in the clone campaigns expansion. But I think there are still improvements to be made. For example. the AT-AT can now attack air units and the cannon lasers are made longer and thinner. But, as u can see in the emp. strikes back. The at-at also has a twin mounted repeating lasers. Remember the scene when rebel trooopers are running from the scums of the mighty walker. The cannon is only used. when General Veers is ordered by lord vader to destroy the power generator. Another thing is the way the at-at walked. In the game, the at-at walked as if it is sliding across surfaces unlike in the game where the at-at walked by advancing one leg at a time and when its leg land, the ground will shake. Another thing is the mech destroyer and the strike mech. In the game, the at-st is the mech destroyer, shooting out blue lasers. But in the movie, it funtion more as an infantry eliminating mech with its twin cannons shooting out red lasers. As for the at-pt, i didn even smelled it. As for the bombers, eg: tie bomber. they shoot out something like a green moth balls that explode upon contact unlike in the movie where it fly passed something and dropped its payload that explodes in a wide radius that affect anything nearby. (blast radius)Another I hoped is that lucasarts can add snowtroopers instead od stormtroopers in icy scenarios. Max numer of units in single player to 250 instead of the standard 75 and lastly the rebel airspeeder. In the empire strikes back, it shoots red lasers that cannot penetrate the:atat: strong shielded armour and can only relied on its toe cable to bring it down and then blown to smithereens yeah: unlike in the game where it funtion as a super mech destroyer. Hoped that lucas can make these changes Thanks.

Compa_Mighty
If everything was like in the movies we'd have a mess of a game.
MM-86
But in red alert 2, the soviets and allied are very very different. So there should be a possibility to make the civs very different to each other.

MM-86
But red alert 2 is balanced! why cant you make the same thing with SWGB?
Compa_Mighty
Different game, not Red Alert.
lionsault9
Aiya, like the movie then good what. Like the movie, the different civilisations will still be balanced what. The rebels' air superiority but **** up mechs and the empires' domineering:atat: but **** up tie fighters. anyone here agrees with me that in galactic battlegrounds, the tie defender look like ur balls with 4 wings expanding out in different and each individual wings comprises of a pair of *******? Snowtrooper
Hi. I definitely support the idea of snowtroopers in icy maps such as Hoth and can we also include sandtroopers in tatooine? That would be great. Do you remember, in the Empire Strikes Back, when the rebels were attacked by the Empire, the rebel troops were all dressed in some special snowy suit. Remember? Can they be added too when we play icy maps? Hopefully Lucasarts will listen to our SMART and INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE AND IMAGINATIVE ideas. Snowtrooper
Oh, by the way, I do hope something would be done about those stupid wookiees. Nobody seems to be playing them. Agree, anyone?
Kryllith
Actually the AT-ATs in Empire were using the front mounted cannons quite often, mostly to blast the turrents and troops hiding in the trenches, but also on the speeders while the speeders were some distance away. When the speeders were closer, the AT-ATs used the side mounted cannons because they provided better tracking and a wider attack range (the front mounted cannons have a hard firing on something that close). As for the AT-STs being used at mech destroyers, well they serve better as troop killers in the movie, but they aren't as fast or as small as the AT-PTs, so they serve better (gamewise) as mech destroyers. Not much that can be done about the Bombers (Imperial or otherwise) since they don't have the ability to move and drop bombs at the same time in the game. The green blob is fairly common in the LucasArt games when representing Tie Bomber bombs, though I actually like the way the ewok gliders look (dropping the "grenades" of the grenade troopers) when attacking. Of course, for this to be totally realistic, all of the fighters, bombers, etc would move and attack at the same time. I too would like to see the Snow Speeders spin around the AT-ATs and drop them with tow cables. The problem is that while the Speeders would be effective as against the AT-ATs, they wouldn't be very effective against other mechs. Try imagine them wrapping a tow cable around the floating TF Mechs... Kryllith

Now, I support this idea, this is merely aesthetic, and would give a great look and feeling to the game.
jedi3112
I think it would be fun if they didn't had the repeater trooper as an upgrade for the hvy trooper but as an entirely different trooper (with his own sort of new unit upgrades like the trooper recruit upgrading into a trooper, get the idea) with a very weak gun but a much better fire rate. and then they should make the repeater trooper very effective against infantry (anything from the troop center) and scouts maybe even against jedi but quite useless against anything else. and then the trooper could get another new unit upgrade and troopers could be a cheap unit wich is just normal against everything (except aircraft since only specialised can shoot at aircraft) with no real strong points an no real weak points as well
