Nibot
I'm not sure if anyone knows this, but there is a hidden shadows option in Jedi Outcast. At the console (shift +) type cg_shadows 3 You get a type of volumetric shadows that is cast on the ground - darker than the normal volumetric shadows - but not cast on the characters themselves saving your framerate and not looking as 'quirky', plus the Lightsabres aren't translucent. This worked on both my old Voodoo 5 & my new GeForce 4, so I figure it should work for most people. I also had an idea for a small mod that might add some fun to the gameplay. Wouldn't it be cool if you could dig your lightsabre into a wall to slow your fall and reduce falling damage? There'd surely be some resistance (as demonstrated in Episode 1 when Qui-Gon Jinn is cutting through the blastdoor) Might be a fun addition to gameplay
NyghtWalker
Yes it would, we also "see" Luke do just that by using the saber to keep from falling from one of the outer walls of the city he is in in one of the books (I forget off hand which book/city, I think it might've been one of the jedi academy trilogy). GidionTheDead
You are talking about The Last Commando, the third book of the Thrawn Triliogy, where Luke is chased by a few imperials and clones.
