qui gon was a jedi master ..... yes/no?

jedi masters bodies fade away upon death comme yoda and obiwan .... yes/no?

so howcome qui gons body was still around for them to have a funeral pyre (possibly spelt pire) ... does this mean he wasnt a master ... or what?

answers on a postcard

possibly because qui-gon didnt expect his death, however Yoda and Obi-Wan did. In ANH, Obi-Wan lets Vader kill him, and Yoda knows that he was going to die. But then, wasnt Qui-Gon predicting the future when he was cut off from Maul? Dont know......

yes, according to starwars.com qui-gon was indeed a jedi master. imo the reason why his body didn't fade after his death and he didn't become one with the force was that qui-gon dedicated his life to the living force, not the unifying force like many other jedi master did

btw, posting in this forum is not for gaining better titles, rather it is for being a valuable member of the community, but thats just my humble opinion though

what's the problem with being bantha fodder? banthas are not as bad as they look... and maybe they even don't smell that bad...

and just btw, relax, your title will change soon, soon the times of being fodder for someone will be over and you will be a pit droid (i wonder if that's better than being bantha fodder at any rate)

This has been an argument since the movie was released. Back then there were rumors that he really wasn’t dead, and that he would come back later. But I don’t think that’s plausible.

He probably wasn’t holy enough to fade away because of his stubbornness or whatever. Yoda and Obi were long-term Jedi whom never questioned the force, and so they got to have their bodies evaporate.

Darth Vader didn't disappear either, even though he became good. So...

darth could have dissapeared .... his human bits at least ... remember he was mostly machine ... and u only see his sillhouette on the pyre ... also halycon dissapears in the i, jedi book

i dunno i just get the feeling that it was "artistic license" on the film makers part so they could have a gathering at the end to set up ep2

I cannot answer this without spoiling something.... I dunno:

It was said somewhere that only Yoda knew how to do this, and since he and Obi-Wan were the last Jedi, Yoda taught Obi-Wan. Anikin being the sly chosen one that he is, obviously figured out how to do it.

The reason they killed him off, is because George Lucas only wanted Liam Neeson for one film only. Thats why his body never faded and was burn't on a pyre, so he couldn't come back in the next film. Maybe he would have cost too much for the next film.

Perhaps Qui-Gon did not dissapear when he died as he was not one with the Force, calm, or at peace when he died. His life was in the worst possible point to be passing for him, as his Padawan will have to face the trails soons and may need his support and no one will be left to a-convince the council to train anakin b-take care of anakin if he is not alloed to train as a Jedi c-train anakin and even though Obi-Wan is left to take care of these tasks I doubt Qui-Gon felt any good about leaving the HUGEST possible burden in the galaxy on the shoulders of a Padawan who has just watched his Master die which is like losing a father, Qui-Gon was simply to distressed when he died and hence he does not dissapear. Also I'm pretty sure we'll see Qui-Gon as a spirit in EP2, he's mentioned in a book between EP1 and 2 where Anakin has dreams where Qui-Gon gives him messages for himself and Obi-Wan, I doubt Qui-Gon could just simply fade out of existence like that. :)

Bantha Fodder is what Bantha's eat...not Bantha's themselves. Who wants to get eaten?...

Yeah...i think it had something to do with Ben knowing he was going to die. But then again...back then they probably couldnt have made any special effects, or just couldnt afford it, to make it look like Ben was sliced in half. It could have been possible considering how messy those Alien movies were...but still, it could have been the budget they were on...i am not sure.
