At my school, there are two art courses, an extensive music course, and several VGSCEs (Vocational General Certificate of Education), such as Engineering and Health and Social Care for nursing. A systems course is offered for would-be electricians. There are 3 IT courses, including French IT. There are a dozen or so technologies. And you get to choose from these at the end of year 9 (13 & 14 year olds). I have chosen RE, French, Systems, Drama, and History, and I'm doing GCSE maths two years early, so I can probably do IT as well. Who says school is boring? Feral
Why do people think the system sucks? The system is great! The SATs are a good way of testing the teachers in year 9, and the GCSEs in year 11 are a brilliant way of measuring yourself, and if you fail, you can sit some of them again Then you get A levels at University. By this time, you're qualified enough to do anything you choose...

A) you live in a different country B) MY school IS boring .... now MODERN schools are damn kick ass .... its like an actual democracy within the school ... as opposed to a dictatorship within the school
COJ
I have to agree with the system, its impossible to fail, unless u dont understand anything, but if u do, ull never fail..never, the failing list was cut by like 3/4 because of the system, and I like the dictatoship, it would way to sweet
