MatrixCPA
Here's the official word from the Raven mp programmers on how the 2 dismemberment variables work: g_dismember must be set between 1 and 100 to be enabled on the server (100 is the most frequent, 1 is the least, 0 is off). The client must *also* have dismemberment enabled with the cvar cg_dismember in order to actually *see* the dismemberment. One thing though, cg_dismember 2 is full dismemberment on the client (with 1, you won't see waist severing or decapitations). Just thought I'd share. Sysgod
Does this still crash the server when enabled?
Animal Planet
I quick question about the client cg_dismember, do you have to set everytime you join a new server or once you set it, it is always is on for the client?
MatrixCPA
It depends how you set it. If you use seta cg_dismember "1" (or "2") it should save in your jk2mpconfig.cfg. You could also include it on a line in your autoexec.cfg as that executes every time you startup the game.

Verbatim
cg_dismember "1" and "2" does what? Whats the differance?
MatrixCPA
cg_dismember "0" = off cg_dismember "1" = partial dismemberment cg_dismember "2" = full dismemberment Basically with 2 you'll get decapitations and waist cuts whie you will not with 1. rivmin
Hei. Could someone please explain to me, what 'dismemberment' is doing ? I have been looking through my dictionary's and could not find any meaning with this word. Please explain
MatrixCPA
Dismemberment is the removal of limbs. So, with the feature enabled you can chop off someones hand, arm, etc.

DMK
I've seen some set cg_dismember 3 I tried it and it still worked, I just didn't see anything different from 2.
jmcmike
How does this work if the client does not have it set? What I mean is, is the server things that you got a head shot and took off the head but the client doesn't think so, does the match continue? Or does the dismemberment only take place when the opponent has "died" (health =0)? Justin
MatrixCPA
I believe that is correct--dismemberment upon death.

MatrixCPA
As long as you have the settings enabled, it doesn't matter if you are hosting the game on a LAN or whether it's dedicated or not.
TomeG
ThanX, I checked, it worked, but.... after a while (2-3 min) server was down with messagne ~ "opStack internal error" ??? That this mean ??? It happend every time when I typed \g_dismember 100 and \cg_dismember 1 (or 2 - no matter). Help...
MatrixCPA
Are you still using v1.02? There's a known bug in dismemberment in v1.02 that causes such a crash. The solution would be to either not use dismemberment or upgrade to 1.03.
TomeG
Yes, I still used 1.02. Now I upgraded to 1.03 and it's works - Big ThanX. But... I don't like this very long time of fighting... It's worse than previous version... Mayby 1.04??? Again ThanX -
