Death Star with reflective floors.

Thanks to Badakku I've been able to make all the floors in the death star reflective. Heres some shots so you can see for yourself (I know you've seen them before).

Now a question for all of you. Sure this looks good but it does cause some slowdown, especially in detailed areas like hangars. Since it'll be you guys that actually play the level what would you prefer, attention to detail or a smooth running level?

I got a high end box, so Im screamin' for the reflective floor, and more attention to detail in general.

 

Is this a single player "mod", or a whole new map you are making from scratch?

wow that looks really great i hope u make a deathstar hangar bay with the duel room that vader and obi-wan fight in

if not what u go really looks great

reminds me of the coms room that han, chewy, luke and the droids waited in!!

I completely agree. Mapping is about finding a balance between eye candy and performance.

i agree also then if people are lookin for detail they got it and if their looking for not that much detail and better game playing dl the other one :rofl: then noone can complain about it

Well, if you're going to do that, you'd best make a "medium" one, too, so people that want detail, but don't quite have the performance can get the best of both worlds, y'know?

I may release what I've done, but the map won't be finished anytime soon, or maybe ever. From now on I'm too busy with work to edit, unfortunately.

Well, I guess I'm mostly speaking for myself on this one. My machine isn't exactly the best, nor is it the worst. I like the reflective floors, but I don't want a level that runs at 5 fps...well, that is a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point.
