The Seeker
Okay, listen to this deal that I got: A Compaq 543OUS series 5000 which comes with: 1.8 GHz P4 Processor with Windows XP 512MB RAM 80GB Hard Drive 16x Max CD-RW Drive 16x Max DVD-ROM Drive 64MB GeForce 2 Graphics Card All for the price of $800 I swear, after playing through JKII on my old 500MHz AMD, this is like playing an entirely different game. The levels look incredible, it's soooooo much smoother, 30 second level loading and absolutely no lag at all. None. On top of the computer, I also got a 17" flat screen monitor. For computer, monitor and printer I paid only $1200. And that is including an all inclusive warranty for three years. Just had to tell you guys since I was always needing your advice to fix my old one, and to brag about the incredible price I got. Oh, and it is all brand new. Nothin' used here at all. Woot!!! Wacky_Baccy
Finally! I was wondering how long it'd be - I'd almost forgotten So, on a scale of 1 to 11 () how much better is JKII now that you can play it 'properly'? ...And what settings did you have to turn down/off to play it on your old PC? (Most, I'll bet )
The Seeker
OMG, there is just no comparison to gameplay. On a scale of 1-11, its a 12. On my old system, everything save resolution was at its lowest and that was just barely above the lowest. Everything from shadowing to textures even wall marks were off or as far low as they go. Even on those low, low settings, the game lagged horrible on the parts with most detail. Like that Cairn Mine level where I spotted the Old man of the mountains not easter egg, the outdoor levels were almost unplayable. It was horrible and all the rocks looked the same grey color. It was just simply unenjoyable on those high detail levels. But, now, I amagain at that level, and was shocked to see the detal that I had been missing. The rocky cliffs are multicolored and multishadowed. Everything just looks so great that as I said it is practically a different game. All those whiners out there who said that this game is dull looking should first play it with a crappy processor then try it on a good one and see what they say. I just cant get over how great it is.
