Wicket the Ewok
I'm considering getting a flat panel TFT monitor but I've yet to try one when gaming. I've tried quake et al on laptops and it isn't pleasant, with the screen blurring with the motion. Has everyone tried JKII or similar with a desktop TFT monitor? Does it work OK? CupO'Coffee
well, i haven't tried JO on a TFT monitor, but i have asked one of my friends who ownes one how it is to play. he said, that compared to older TFT monitors, the "blurring" has improved, though it hasn't disappeared yet. IMO you should wait another 1 year before considering buying a TFT monitor for gaming...
Kanubis
I've got a TFT, it's only 15" but the image is pure crystal, and that includes complex 3-D movement. No blurring whatsoever. Like most things.. if you get a good quality one, you're alright.
Wicket the Ewok
Thanks for the advice. I'm probably going to get a 17" Philips one. I think I might keep my current CRT monitor though, just in case.
txa1265
I am fully TFT at this point ... JKII I played on my laptop (Dell 8100 with 15" screen) and my 'desktop' has a 18" LCD. I like them quite a bit.
The Rocket Man
We have a Compaq TFT here, and it's not as good for gaming then a normal screen. Also, it doesn't display darkness very well. If a room is badly lit (often in Wolfenstein), you can't see very much. And no, changing gamma doesn't work. Just a warning.
