Swoosh
Hey guys, Chris and I are in the media computer center right now getting ready for our interview session with Simon Jeffery today. I think we got some pretty good questions lined up that hopefully he can answer. Hopefully I can get that up tonight, since Iæm heading home this afternoon. LEC is putting on a really nice showing, we got the tour of their private room yesterday and all the titles are coming along very well. Unfortunately, Full Throttle 2 is not on display...the only place you can see Ben is in short clips on the huge screen LEC has set up in the entrance to the show and an image of him in the press packet we got in our tour. Expect for a much bigger showing next year as the release date approaches. The games I am most impressed with right now are Knights of the Old Republic and The Clone Wars, but all the titles are looking really excellent. Indy is looking superb, we got to see the gandala level where Indy mans a turret and is forced to shoot down fighters attempting to shoot down the gandala...very cool. We have yet to see out demo of Galaxies and Bounty Hunter, but we were told we would get that today. Everything else here is fine, we got out of our hotel in the slums of Hollywood and have found safety near the airport...the continuous hellicopter and police siren noise last night clued us in that we needed to get out...so that is good More later today! Swoosh
Alright, we got our demos of SWG and Bounty Hunter and both games look great, but SWG truly blew me away. The sheer massiveness of the game and even the buildings was amazing. Haden took us into Jabba's Palace and walked around for many minutes, then took us outside and stood next to the outer walls. He was trying to stress the attempt to make every detail the proper size from what we see and would expect. Then out character got together with five other ones and decided to head out and hunt down some stormtroopers. When they reached a group of about four or so, text appeared above the stormtroopers heads saying the general stormtrooper talk (halt, die rebel scum, etc.). The battle raged on for a few minutes and an AT-ST appeared and started firing at our group. Then our character ran away from the battle and the demo ended. Haden talked to us for a bit about death, jedi, and a few other topics that I can't remember just now. Anyways, it was all very impressive, probably the most impressive LEC game for me. I'll get back with more information later, I'm trying to put together a section for all the e3 things we learned. Oh yeah, our interview with Simon Jeffry was excellent. We got the next best thing to him telling us what the upcoming games will be, he gave us a lot of clues and good information. Chris needs to type that up, so that should be online sometime this weekend. Keep a look out for all of that! Swoosh
sascha23
I believe FT2 is supposed to be out in the Spring of 2003, but then again I could be wrong....anyone have a confirmed release date or season for that matter? Sascha
Swoosh
Sascha, Full Throttle 2 is farther off than that...they only had pre-rendered movies on display at e3 and there wasn't even a booth displaying it. Gladius, which is coming out in the spring, looked like it was very far along, so I'm assuming that the soonest we'll see FT2 is fall 2003. I guess we'll learn more in the coming months. Probably around July more info will be coming out. Swoosh
