CupO'Coffee
i think this just wouldn't work. star wars isn't made for series. it's all about good vs evil, about great things, great things happening, you just couldn't make a series out this.
Jubatus
More to the point, it shouldn't happen! All series based on a movie experience a serious degrading in quality, mostly due to lessened budget and change of production and direction staff, and actors. It would seriously blemish the movie(s) bordering to the point of blasphemy. And as pointed out above, the movies should stand by themselves with their tales of great events in that galaxy. Cooking up some minor stories would only deflate the Star Wars experience. It's easy to 'fall victim' to the feeling that you want more of the same, when you experience something great, but more is not always better. Some things, great things, should be allowed to stand alone. Respect its uniqueness and be content with acknowledging the movie(s) as a complete whole, wanting for no more. Thanks Jubatus

Jedi_Monk
Star Wars works and has worked as a series; see the multitude of comics and expanded universe novels. While I don't think the novels are great (or even good), the comics are very high-quality. If a SW series was produced by Lucasfilm, had a division of ILM doing the effects, controlled by a fan for continuity (maybe Sansweet?) and took some writers from Darkhorse, it could be the best series yet. Do not follow a specified group of people, focus on a different character and time each week and you'd have a winner.
