Just a couple spots are odd right now, but for the most part it looks pretty much done. The way the section between the gloves, and the sleves is looks weird. Maybe make the sleve come down just a bit more, and make them a tad less puffy. The gloves look like they should flare out a bit more, and maybe make the hands a bit more meaty. they look too slender right now.

As for the head the mouth section looks to much like a woman, and the spike in the center of the fron of the head looks like its missing. Right were that dark grey shape is. Maybe thats just how it looks at that angle or someting. The face shouldnt need to much work since it will me mostly black anyway. You already said about changing the mouth, so that problem will probably be fixed.:) Good work so far.:)

Awesome work so far Kat.

Well since im not doing it anymore i might as well help ya out.

Im not gonna nitpick on detail at this point cuz it's still under development. But There's something wrong with porportions or at least it seems so. the torso seems far too thin for the waist giving away a very unbalanced picture. Maul as everyone knows wears very loose clothes, nothing tight. The pants and drappery seem kinda fine but the torso is too tight or thin.

I know by my own experience that you cant widen him too much on the torso because of the arm animation. That part is a B$#$H!

I'd sugest you try to widen the torso slightly and thin the pants. Normalize him a bit more.

I MAY be wrong but that drappery seems to be a tad incorrect or maybe we got diferent references.

Oh.. and make sure you improve the parts where the loose clothes are tighten either by the boots or in the sleeves. Try a lil fall out of the side effect. That would look very cool.

Im afraid that the cheek bones are too portruded and the chin too ...er... delicate. if you just make his jaw wider that should fixit.

Aside from these lil techicalities overall it looks great.. and once again it seems like a very well tailored model.

Keep up the good work. Looking good dude :)

I do. Tiny chest. He's working on it.

Yeah it's his lips that make him seem female when working on the head why don't you look at pics of Ray Park without the makeup? Right now he eaither looks like a little boy, or a lady.

Actually the arses on both where fine. You really should look at a woman sometime.

Maybe you're just looking at wrong type of women :p or maybe you're looking at black womens "arses" :D

I noticed that one of those pics in Darth Odisse's links has the seperate peices in the back for the cloth like on the shots I took of the tony hawk one. I thought they just did it on tony hawk for some extra movement, but it apears to be that way.

Well, I'll have an update in a few hours...

The thing is, I'm finding that Ray Park, has the weirdest shaped head ever!!! hehe.

Darkhold X: I think I have the rear drapery figured out now. The thing is I have figures and pictures and all kinds of reference pics, but they are all different, and the movie pics are either moving or too dark.........

I believe the best way to tackle it is gonna be to do a mix of the action figures rear drapes and the Big ol' one I have that lights up the sabers. So the plan is to have it so that under the first layer of drapery, I'm gonna make the under layer like the front, in three sections.... Hopefully that will do it.

BloodRiot: Good to see you. The face you see in these pics is mostly just blocked out, I've been working on his damn head all day, and I think things are leading in the right direction. As far a broadening his torso, you are damn straight on that one. Working around the skeleton is quite weird. If I could make him without the skeleton, things would probably be much different, but doing it this way has it's limitations...

Odisse: Thanks for the Ref pics.

Sorry Guys, some family obligations got in the way of the update, but there's a positive to it.... Gotta eat Steak tonight!

Anyways, Once I'm done here I'll be back at it and get you some pics by tomorrow. I've done a helluva lot already, but nothing worth pimping, so keep an eye out...

Gem Blade: I really couldn't tell you how long really. I'm modeling much faster now then whan I did Lady Brena, but Spacemonkey put her ingame for me, and right now I know nothing past the skinning stage except for what the Monkah told me. I'll be putting Maul ingam myself, so there's a learning curve to overcome.

maul looks great, can't wait to see him in play, the face does look a little feminine, i think its in the lips.

since you have modeled *succesfully* before, id like to just ask a few questions for you so maybe i can finish my mace windu :D :

-- are you using milkshape? or gmax?

-- what method are you using to texture it? and can you use .tga's with modview and a .skin file on a model you modified from an origional game model?

-- do you make custom animations for your models or use the games premade animations(and how do you link them if so)

ANY help is most appreciated, and granted as a newbie modeler my final product probably wont be as good as your maul, or the mandolorians(man were those cool), but i'd like to atleast be able to finish it to the point where i can test it. good luck with maul :maul:
