The model is weighted to the way the skeleton works. The arms can use some improvements I know, but the skeleton animates, and the model bends over.

Part of it may be that I spent alot of time weighting him and playing as him with the Double Bladed Saber.

I am however going to tinker with the model leisurely, but as a side project to further learn weighting and such. I will look into it, but as a side project of sorts.

i dled your model an WHOOP its GREAT!

but the arms and shoulders really deform very bad...

i love the model and i think its very sad to see those odd deformities...

i hope i didnt insult you too much with that...

but i'd like to help... if you want to go on with other projects then i will, if you want me to, try to fix that problem for ya....

i dont want any credit for this.. and i dont want to steal your work.. i'm just trying to help. plz dont get me wrong :)

(plus it will be great stuff to learn from for me...) ;)

Thanks Ches, the model is awesome. I do agree with some of the points made here, about the back, but the arms really don't bother me as much. Maybe they look a little too thin in certain positions.

I'm still using the old Chiss skin that came with the game(blue CTF version), but i'm looking forward too running into your awesome Maul model.

Great work, i'm looking forward to your next project.

This is the Instruction to play as "Blue Maul" in SP. It works for me so it should work for you:

Extract each file that says blue and place it in your new blue folder.

Extract the "model_blue.skin" and place that in your blue folder

Extract "model.glm" and put that in your blue folder

Extract "animsounds.cfg" and put that in your blue folder

Extract "Thumbs.db" and pu that in your blue folder

After you do all that, make sure you rename the "model_blue.skin" to this: "model_default.skin".

Also, make sure you didn't change any of the Stormtrooper files within the "model_default.skin".

When done, rename your blue folder to kyle (i'm assuming you're replacing Kyle) and make 2 new folders: players & models.

Place the kyle folder into the players folder.

Then place your players folder into the models folder.

Now zip the models folder with winzip then rename the extension from .zip to .pk3. Thats it. I hope it helps.

Follow the same instructions if you want to play as "Red Maul". Just extract all of the files that says red.

will this work if I use Tavion instead of Kyle? Id like to have Darth Vader replace Desann and Maul replace Tavion, I think thatd be cool

Yes, if you want to replace Tavion with Darth Maul, then just extract the proper files from the Maul folder into a new one and rename the folder tavion. (make sure the .skin file of whoever you choose to replace tavion with is renamed "model_default.skin"). Then place the tavion folder into another folder called players. Then place the players folder into another folder called models. Then finally zip it up with winzip and rename it whatever you want (Maul_to_Tavion.pk3). Make sure you delete the zip extension and rename it to .pk3. ALl you have to do now is drop it in your base folder.

Im not insulted in the least. It's my first complete model from start to finish and I did have alot of problems with the arms. As I stated earlier, I'll probably tinker with the arms on and off, but I need to move on for now.

As far as the hunch, I think its because of the scarf he wears, so when he dips his head the scarf comes up and head down making it look more so than with other models. I have an idea of how to fix it, but alot of this is pretty new to me.

This is new to you?? Man, your already making stuff that would make Raven jealous.

I just got the Sp version and it's a lot of fun. Man, i wish i could record some of the battles i've had with Maul(like you can in Mp). It looks so friggin' cool.

Matt, the Darth Maul model (or any other player made model) won't work correctly in SP if you load in a saved game. You have to either start a new game or a new level.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Well, it works for me. But I've noticed if I use too many character replacements things get pretty weird. I ve seen things like whorng skins on other characters, ane no skins on characters as well as this Saber on the leg thing.

Im really not sure how to fix it. So far the only thing that seemed to work for me is to run only one or two character replacements at a time.
