Razage
Okay, so there's no Pull-Backstab or pull-spin combos allowed, however what about a pull-DFA combo? DFA isn't assfighting (And I saw an admin doing it, allthough that's a moot point since he's an admin and all. Kind of like how congressmen don't have to obey the law) Or a pull heavy lunge combo? Again, not assfighting. Hell, for that matter, what the hell IS assfighting? I mean, is pulling and backstabing really assfighting, or is assfighting just running backwards? PRAXEUM
Greetings, Ass Fighting is defined by our server as anyone who fights backwards, or purposefully fights backwards for a period time in hopes of doing the backslash or backstab. In our opinion the move was designed to be used when someone comes from behind you, It was not meant so you purposefully and constantly put yourself in front of someone doing it. DFA was tinkered with so much during the patch that it’s a non issue. It takes good skill and timing to actually nail someone with DFA, and most of the time if you do its not as much as an instakill as it used to be. Though I will admit there is a lot of lucks sometimes with that move. As for pull backstabbing. That’s a touchy issue. If you do the pull backstab over and over again that is deemed as excessive and will merit a kick. The pull spin thing that I know a few of the admins are fond of is not deemed as a cheap kill do to the fact that unlike the other moves like backstab and back swing, its not as much of an instakill and more of a finisher. But using that a lot is also deemed as excessive but not on the same level as the other moves. The damage that the move I think you are referring to is not as large as the moves we monitor. And this isn’t an invitation to use that move excessively either. We try to have an overall good timeserver, and if know how bad it can be when excessive pull kills happen. But the move is as cheap as the others we monitor. And comments referring to the admins such as: "(And I saw an admin doing it, although that's a moot point since he's an admin and all. Kind of like how congressmen don't have to obey the law)" Different admins have different fighting styles, and as we respect all of you we intern expect the same back. If you are upset for another reason, please explain it. I’ve seen you on the server several times, and if you have questions and complaints, contact us and ask us before you get straight to the flaming. Please don’t bash the admins. We try to boast equality here and admins are just like the rest of the players. So lets try and keep things clean here. Sometimes certain rounds don’t go as well as others. We try to overall have an anti excessive backstab/back swing environment, but sometimes things don’t work out as well as we all hope. And until someone figures away to edit the engine there’s no way we can control the combat. We can only monitor it and try as best as we can to make fair and reasonable decisions. We try our best, and I hope to see you back on the server soon. PRAXEUM

Razage
Alright, that really clears things up. See, it's not important want the players perscribe as how they see assfighting, as how the admins see it though. That's the point of my last post. I just didn't word it carfully because I was kind of ticked off at the time. When a server becomes heavly policied so that a certain set of rules can be enforced, it's important to let the players know where that line is. To one person, exessive might mean once per minute, to another it might mean just whenever he feels like it. I hope you get your website up soon and on it you'll have the lines more clearly defined. This is a good start and it's certainly helped me clear up my perspective. The admin comment was rather crude and I apologize. Sorry if I offended anyone in my last post, I was just really pissed off. If I have any more concerns, I'll bring them up with you VIA email. Razage
[Edit] Removing double post, you have NO IDEA how slow this server was last night, and for noone being on it, I find that quite bizzare. [/Edit]
TheRock
I think Im seeing double ! And just my opinion, I HATE THAT EP1 MAP!!! That pink room just drops my FPS to like 2. If I spawn in there Im screwed. I just try and stay in the hanger. Anyone else have this problem?
Aegis
A few of us players always enforce the rules, lethally at times if needed. Though, I wait for the day I might become an admin. Until then, Fatninja and myself (Master Anduin) will enforce those rules, and taunt Havok! BTW, I won't be going onto the server for a couple days, porbably not until sunday. bloodcovrdcloth
I when i am not in a fight i turn my sabor off and run around until i find someone... does this mean they cant fight me until i turn my sabor on?
PRAXEUM
Greetings, Yes, they cat attack you with the force or their lightsabers untill you turn yours back on. And meanwhile, while yours is off, you may not attack anyone. Attacking is defined as kicking, using the force, and saber use. Hope that cleared things up. Emon
How bout just wait for the patch. Would be easier, IMO.
Dark Begger
hmm..I don't know if your ffa is a 'duel' type of ffa..as in peopple just wait and watch..but, if it isn't, won't it be a problem if someone just turned their saber off, running around the level finding ammunition and/or armour until theyare at 100/100? or they turn off their saber, and search for health packs?
KnightHawk420
Emon - Having a patch would be easier. Then only the saber down rule would we have to enforce. There is nothing wrong with putting your saber down and going off to look for ammo or shields... but... If your in the middle of a fight, and your nearly dead and decided to try and get some bacta and shields. Do not think putting your saber down mid fight will grant you immunity. In my opinion if your put your saber down during a fight, you deserve to die. If you can successfully evade your opponenet. Then fine put your saber down and get some health. But the point of the rule is not to allow people to puss out, but to allow them to cruise around unchallenged looking for duels. I try to encourage a environment where duels are common. However we have no problems if the players just want to start going FFA. As long as your only attacking those with saber up. So if you have no interest in dueling anyone and just want straight up FFA, then put your saber up, and run around looking for those that also wish the same. But be carefull.... the hawk will get you.... hehe...

Solo4114
Something else you may want to watch out for as an exploited move: The kick, medium flip attack combo (or pull/push/whatever). I need to do a bit more research into this one, but it seems like it's pretty powerful and not that hard to do. If it's an instakill move (there really SHOULDN'T be any instakills, unless EVERYTHING kills you instantly), then you guys ought to police it, I think. It would seem to be in the same vein as policing backstabbing, since it's not that hard a combo to pull off, and it MAY be overly powerful. As with the backstabbing, I probably wouldn't care if it happened once in a while, but if someone spams it over and over, and it turns out to be basically an instant kill, then I think it's got to be policed. SolarFire
I'll chime in here. the medium mid air attack can be evaded and easily avoided. One standard I go by is not using attacks that cannot be blocked or avoided. Sure people of lesser skill will cry about attacks they can't figure out how to block, and/or attacks they can't figure out how to do on their own. I've been admin to about 10 TFC servers since it's release, and to 2 different CS servers over the years. People have a tendancy to cry mutany when an admin doesn't do exactly what the individual expects of him, were human too you know expect hawk.. he is god . TheRock
Spamming any *special move* will probably get you a swift kick. To my knowledge, this would include spamming DFA, backstab, backswings, medium finisher...theres prolly others. I interpret the rules this way: If someones out of the combat area, saber down, and not using force..leave him be. If you use the same 1 hit or 2 hit kill move OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER....Go someplace else. You are NOT wanted here. If you spam DFA for a while, then Blue Lunge/backstab, then the medium finisher, you're prolly going to piss peopel off and get da boot. Now, if you use ALL three of those, in a manner other than spamming (switching between stances mid battle, trying to manuever into a good position), your fine in my opinion. I use the pull/backswing combo and have just started using a pull/medium finisher combo. The medium finisher I don't think is a 1 hit kill, and it has far less range as the backswings. The backswings start hitting right when you trigger, the medium finisher (overhead swing thing) only hits a fallen target at the proper point of the swing. The only semi-bad thing about it is you can spin around and get some seemingly unblockable damage to surrounding opponents. However, the medium finisher leaves you VERY VERY open to counter attacks, as there is a huge delay on it. Last point, i believe its blockable. Anywhoo.....you want fries with that? TheRock
If you want to spam something and get to the top of the scoreboard, go some place else. Theres hundreds of servers that could careless about what you do on the server. Don't come to ours unless you can respect the rules. Don't come to ours UNTIL you UNDERSTAND the rules. *I may make an ezboard for the server unless hawk has plans. hell, I got nothing better to do at work tomorrow, maybe Ill do it anyways...its free * The Rock - That'll be $.02, no refunds, no warranty, no garuntees. Con. Snake
Medium Finsher.. Heh...If you do it perfect it is a 1 hit kill, even if the person has 25 shields and 100hp(default config after spawning) However it's rarely done perfectly. Then again it's also WAY easy to avoid. Sometimes I do this move to try and end the confrontation right then and there if I think I'll loose if it continues much longer. However, more often than not I do it on accident. I use pretty much only Medium stance as I like the assurance of know exactly how much damage a solid blow did(All medium hits do 30 damage if it was a solid blow). This, along with the tendancy to move and jump alot, results in the accidents...And boy do I pay for it. Scorebaord? Screw that thing. To me it only exists to see exactly who is playing and my ping. I'm never at the top, nor do I care. Hell, I am without a doubt the worst player at the server by far. If I cared about winning more than having fun, I wouldn't be there. Demise_SOK
I played for a map and a half last night. Kinda wish the games were 20 mins instead of thirty but whatever. I did see a couple of people get kicked but then the admin. must have drifted off for the next map because people began to kill those with saber down and spam backstab. I don't mind this since I can backstab with the best of them and nothing pleases me more in JKII now but killing gimp, one-move players . I'll be back to own another day.
