Hello,

I just got Windows XP Professional installed to my system and installed JK2. I cannot get it the game to run under the normal start up but I can play under safe mode. My system is an AMD XP 1600. Asus A7A 266 with 256Mb 2100 DDR. Radeon 8500 running 6.13.10.6071 drivers. SoundBlaster Live Value. Windows XP with all updates applied. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it...

I think I had the same problem. Lemme guess? The game screwed up your color to, causing you to restore XP to an earlier time. You need a good video card, not the stock one that comes with the computer. Luckily I got mine back yesterday with my new card. Hope this solves your problem.

get the lastes driver for your card. for winXP of course.

IF its work in safe mode its only because safe mode not load drivers for videocard and soundcard.

He is right.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for all your cards.

I'm sure alot of people here are running on winXP with no difficulties at all - inc me. Just give it a try

Yes, i have re-installed several times. I also discovered that the Radeon 8500 drivers 6.13.10.6071 are the most recent drivers. I was able to get the game to run under compatability mode.

If thats the case then you may have some graphical/sound/etc option turned on that's messing it up for ya.. Try fine tuning your settings and seeing what combination will run. Best to start at the lowest possible settings then work your way up.
