How Do You Spawn NPC's?

What is the command to spawn npc's on your own server? Someone mentioned it was:

 

/bind "key" npc spawn whateveryouwanttospawn

 

 

 

So I typed:

 

/bind r npc spawn Desann

 

But its not working. Obviously I'm doing it wrong or was given the wrong command. Can anyone please tell me the proper command? Thanks.

it depends on whether you're in single player or multiplayer. in single player, you cant spawn bots, but you can spawn npcs. in multiplayer, you cant spawn npcs, but you can spawn bots. the difference is subtle, but npcs range in skill a LOT more than bots do. desann the npc is a lot more powerful than the bot, however the TK-421 bot is way more powerful than the stormtrooper npc. anyway, onto the commands.

 

if you're playing single player, you first need cheats enabled (/HelpUsObi 1), then type

 

/npc spawn "npcnamehere"

 

in a multiplayer server that you have admin rights to, simply type

 

/addbot "botnamehere"

 

voila

Ok, now that I know how to spawn npc's in single player, how do you spawn multiple npc's at the same time (in single-player)? I can only spawn one at a time by typing the spawn command over and over again. How do I spawn 10 stormtroopers at once?
