They didn't speak out against the idea of giving Palpatine power when the suggestion was made, so that's passive acceptance in any case (which is understandable when they learned of the army being build on Genosia). And the Senate had to be willing to go along with the idea. The simple reality of the situation is that Palpatine duped them all, so JarJar couldn't really be blamed more than anyone else. If he wasn't there, chances are Palpatine and company simple would have convinced someone else... Kryllith
lijijil
As hard as it may be to believe FunClown there was a horse racing in Melbourne (Australia) the same day called Obe-Wan Kenobi, it was also a bit strange hearing that named called by an exciteable race caller

mez1109
Jar Jar is not that bad, he is put there as the comedy relief. You don't want a Jedi, who is ment to be take seriously to come up with Jar Jar's lines, and nearly achieve to destroy most of the Droid Army, just by fluke and dumb luck. Perhaps oneday we will finally see them race together in a big showdown. Now that would be really interesting. Damn You funclown!! You and the rest of the circus performers will burn in hell! ET Warrior
I dont mind comedy relief, and i dont find JarJar to be a racist character.........i also, however did not find any of JarJars jokes or humorous antics funny....i sort of chuckled in the battle when he had the droid stuck to his foot.....but that was the only time. I probably would have laughed more.....but Ahmed Best made his voice SO annoying....gives me shivers. (Who all noticed ahmed best was in the cantina when anakin was looking for zam wessel?) Kryllith
Yeah, both Ahmed Best and Anthony Daniels are in the catina. Anakin walks in front of both of them when he's searching for Wessel. If you really want to see them easily, watch immediately after Obiwan disarms Wessel when the camera is showing the patrons' reactions. I'm pretty sure it jumps right to Daniels's face and then immediately to Best's (might be in reverse order). Kryllith

Redwing
Originally posted by RectalFury I admit I did think those parts were funny, ET. The childish humor still can't be excused though. And Jedi can be funny MotionMan, just look at Yoda in ESB. The only other funny Jedi line in AOTC is when Mace says "This party's over." That was the best line in the entire movie. I quite agree. Actually, it was seeing this line in an AotC TV commercial that first got me really hyped about the movie. It was funny, corny, and sooooooo Mace. As for Jar Jar, I think he had too much time in The Phantom Menace, but I like him, like it or not. @MotionMan: She?!?
