Losing your job

Sorry if this is a lil off the Star Wars topic. Forgive the rant too, but I feel a need to vent...

I work in the telecom industry. I've worked at a place now for about 1 1/2 years now at first doing tech support, then I started designing WAN's, writing programs & performing big ATM switch & DSLAM maintenance. I am most likely going to lose my job on Monday & the company will go under. I suppose I am the lucky ones since I've survived 7 rounds of layoffs in the past year, but I can't help but feel a little bitter at the situation. :) F*uck those god damned slope headed simians. I work like a god damn slave for them for a year and a half (which is alot since I'm only 23 :)) working 60 hour weeks & ignoring what used to be a healthy social life so I can do my part & help out as much as I can to keep the company afloat & get me my moolah. Bieng the low man on the totem pole at a company gives you a certain unique perspective on things. I tried as hard as I could to get them to be so slow witted & inefficient & money wasting with their ridiculous and at times utterly baffling policies & tools & they never budged an inch because of their f*cking bruised egos. Now we all have to pay for their shortcomings. Not just us employees, but all our customers who will now have to redesign entire networks & switch services. Oh well... grr.. I cant stand the ridiculous **** that got put into the industry by overeager marketers & inept middle managers & even worse CEO's. Time to go update my resume. For those that read all the way through this sorry to bug you. If you have similar experiences please feel free to post them. It can be theraputic. :)

Oh and if anyone in the Dallas area is looking to hire anyone who knows how to design WAN's, fix DSL/T1 circuits, build servers, write web based apps PM me. Hehe.

Reading back on this post it seems rather low key. Believe me I'm royally pissed.

Nerf, you have my sympathies. Incidents like these are just part of the reason I left the IT field. Actually job stability was the KEY reason. I wish you success in your next job search, that and patience...because it's an ordeal ready to fray your last nerve :D . All the best.

All i have to say is, NerfYoda is the man, completely and honestly, and you'll see why when our site is ready to go... and if you're in the dallas area and can get him a phat job, do it... and if you're not in the dallas area and can get him a job, pay him enough money to move...

oh, and damn the man
