Worms Posted June 8, 2002 Share Posted June 8, 2002 I really want to do three single player StarCraft mods, I want one for Terran (which will be the first), one for Protoss (the last one) and the second one will be Zerg. Incase you didn't notice, thats the order the campaigns in StarCraft are. Each 'mod' would have 10 missions, just like StarCraft. In the Terran one, you would start of as a Marine, then train to become a Firebat, then take up arms in a Goliath Battle suit. Because JO has support for vehicles (AT-ST in the jungles of Yavin 4) and mounted weapons, I could let the player get into a bunker and maybe take a Vulture bike for a nice Sunday drive through Zerg infested territory. The missions would be based on the original StarCraft missions, but would be change a bit to suit the First Person nature of the game (i.e. arriving by drop ship, entering the Jacobs instilation by the entrance, etc). The weapons would include the C-14 Guass Rifle, a pistol, Needlegun (like Liberty's in Liberty's Crusade), grenades, Flamer some missiles/machine guns for the Goliath. iguelmay Posted June 8, 2002 Share Posted June 8, 2002 i've always been trying to formulate a good star craft FPS in my mind, but it started to mess up once i realized there weren't that many guns... and there wasn't a very good way to depict zealot combat. Worms Posted June 9, 2002 Author Share Posted June 9, 2002 Nah, it is better for JO. Because the Goliath could be used in a similar way to the ATST. There are quite a few weapons for the Terrans I could have: C14 Gauss Rifle, C10 Canister Rifle (which can also launch Lockdown rounds), Pistol, Needle Gun (like the one in the book), Rocket Launcher (like in the Brood War introduction), Flamer, etc. For the Protoss: Psi Blades, Warp Blade (Dark Templar), Psi Rifle (carried by the hero that is a High Templar), Plasma Cannon (ripped off Destroyed Dragon), Psi Beam (a weak Psi Storm), Psi Storm, etc... Zerg: Claws, teeth, feet, body weight, acid spit (the Terran cutscene in Brood War - the one with the bomb), poison spines (Hydralisk). The Psi Blades, Warp Blades and Zerg claws would do great with the sabre pysics, that being different movements make different attacks. No, I would like to do it in the order the game is in, and if the mods are popular/succesful, do the Brood War missions. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
