I don't know anything about that. But, if they can move up from signing documents with a signature instead of a thumbprint, I'd say they're doing pretty good to make up for the lack of grenade-chucking skill.

Well, I downloaded and installed the game. Its slow as hell on my TNT2 and has texture probs. But its not just me, its everyone else with a TNT2(Except for those Beta-Testers....). It has some bugs...

I have managed to complete the first 2 training missions(Rifle Marksmanship and the Obstacle course)

I am now a certified Marksman.

Found Bugs

When firing the M249 it crashes on the third shot.

I'll bet you're gonna get stuck on the cargonet on the obstical couse and trying to figue out MOUT McKenna. EVERYBODY ELSE DID!

Heres the deal, the cargonet, is bugged and fiddly so try experementing going slightly to the left or right before climbing without the ******* drill sergeant telling you to do it again, secondly, you gotta qualify MOUT McKenna, not MOUT, the one with McKenna after it online, before you can play any other online map. Hope this helps you all, oh, and don't after for help from anyone on the Gamespy chat rooms, forums maybe but the chatrooms a hell hole, get into a game quick ASAP before they drive you nuts!

/me runs off to play AA hehehehehehe

The game was an excvellant idea in theory, however it is one of the most buggy releases I have seen yet.

Maybe using the unreal 3 engine before even unreal 2 came out was not a smart idea.

If you even manage to get on a server, its only a matter of time before you fall through a rather leaky map.

Not all of the training is accesible, even if you qualify with the proper scores.

They dont even have an ingame adjustment for mouse sensitivity.

Ive seen better beta's and demo's.......

I got something to say about that.

1) It's not buggy, it is infact incredibly the opposite in my experience, the only problem is the HUMONGOUS uptake, which the USArmy in their lack of foresight failed to see coming, the servers are swamped as of present and shall remain so untill the patch comes out tommorow and we'll see MANY more private servers open freeing up the pressure on HomeLan.

2) Unreal 3 engine huh? Shuddup

3) The only time iv'e seen people fall through the map is in spec mode and they ended up back in the right position immediately, I doubt the player even noticed it from his perspective, if anything, it's pind related.

4) Demo DEM-O you're gonna have to wait for the end of the month for training, because it's not been implemented yet duh!

5) IT'S A FREE GAME! You get that? FREE! Stop whining, there are so many like you whining about the game and how it's so crappy.

if you don't like it, bog off. Let us guys who enjoy the game play, it's hardly like you payed 50 bucks for what is the forefront of FPS engine technolegy and a fantastic game in its own right

:RANT OVER:

SITREP (7.5.02)

America's Army is experiencing unprecedented popularity! Just prior to its release, the AA website had an average of 750,000 hits/sec. This was merely a premonition of things to come... In the 36 hours of its release, AA:O RECON has been downloaded by several hundred thousand gamers (thanks to all the folks and the gaming community for sharing in this herculean effort!) At its peak, HomeLAN's authentication system has served over 500,000 authentications - averaging 15 every second! Demand for AA:O RECON has been so great that we've increased our game servers by twenty-five percent the past twelve hours (with more on the way)! All this -- and its only been 36 hours! We were prepared for quite a rush -- but who ever thought it would be something of this magnitude! Thanks for all the feedback and support in making this special RECON version so successful! Stay tuned and check back here regularly -- there's much more to come! [bacchus]

Yes milky they are quite swamped.

Operation Flashpoint. The USMC version being VBS1(Virtual Battle Field Systems). Its a big step up from from tank sims that couldn't model terrain(its a flat piece) and graphics that were so bad you'd want to commit suicide if you saw them.

Here

They chose OFP because it easily incorporates large(Yes Quite Large) terrain, armor, infantry, aircraft, and seacraft.
