IRQ 9 is your problem. Your video, USB, sound, Network, and Modem are ALL on the same IRQ.

What we need to do is try and get them off of those IRQs.

I think we better do that over AIM. Will you be around tonight so I can walk you through that?

Please if anyone can help me I really want to play! Thanks!!

What's your OS? Some OS's like Windows 2k and XP may not let you edit the IRQ settings. In some instances neither does Win9x or ME. This is because of the Plug and Play feature which automatically sets the IRQ. There are ways of disabling Plug and play and there are also ways of changing IRQ's, but it depends on the OS and some steps that I know of are quite complex and technical. Maybe someone else has an easy way of doing it.

Isn't IRQ sharing like this just typical for XP? From everything I've heard it's just normal for XP to throw everything on one IRQ - isn't that what IRQ sharing is all about. Of course, if I saw this set up on my Win98SE system, I'd freak out. Like mentioned above, trying to change IRQs in XP is most likely a major ordeal!

Unfortunately I don't think you can choose your own IRQ's.. one thing you can do is try moving some cards (sound, NIC) around and see what IRQ's they get assigned.. maybe you should run dxdiag, save the results, and post them here so we can have a look..

start > run > dxdiag

ok antoher tecnician has told me how to rid this problem, and it involves reinstalling windows at at a certain point, pressing f5 and choosing a new option.

For anyone who is having the same problem, msg me so we can end the non-playable G@YNESS.

thanks to all for trying to help.
